Good Beginner Set
This is a good beginner espresso set. It works, but itâs not going to be the highest quality tools out there. It works for the purpose and helps to make more consistent espresso shots.

must have tools
You can make a coffee without any of these but you can make a great coffee and enjoy the experience with the right tools. The tamper gives me just the right amount of pressure for that sweet dense coffee cake I’m lookin for at the end, the pokey thing makes sure my machine can pull that sweet smoooth coffee from evey grain of coffee in my basket and the funnel helps me fill that basket to perfection without wasting a molecule of that devine bean dust.

For large portafilters
This is a pretty nice set. You get several accessories that look and feel nice. The tamper and the portafilter funnel were too big for our Breville, but the aerator worked well. A smaller size would have fit our need well.We’ll have to use another kit more appropriately sized. It didn’t advertise that it would fit our Breville and we just rolled the dice when we ordered it. That’s not the manufacturer’s fault so it might work great for you. This is a 58 mm kit, so just make sure you have a large enough portafilter. We’ve since found out ours is 54 mm so we’ll just use something else.

You need this to make repeatable expresso pulls
I did not include a photo because it looks just like the advertising shots. The distribution tool is the standard one with tiny pins to break up any clumps in the ground coffee. When you use it with the dosing funnel it reduces the mess you often get with the distribution process. The dosing funnel fits well to my portafilter. But it’s not magnetic. That’s ok with me because I often spill the ground coffee pulling the funnel off the portafilter when they are too magnetic. But this one is not magnetic at all in contradiction to the product description. Another downside is that the portafilter does not fit in the cradle under the bean grinder output when the dosing funnel is installed on it. That’s a bummer because it was one of the reasons I selected this kit. Oh well. It’s still somewhat useful to prevent messes. The tamper has an adjustable depth setting so you can set it to the best depth and it will (supposedly) provide a constant 30# of spring force on the grounds. Overall a usable kit although it has some limitations.

The distributor tool is a bit unusual.
First, I must admit that I ordered the wrong size. My Breville machine is apparently 53 mm, not 58 mm. So my first advice is to measure your machine with a micrometer and order the correct size.The reason I ordered this item was because the Breville tends to spill a lot of grounds. I wanted a funnel that would prevent this. However, since I ordered the wrong size (see picture), I was not able to do this. Another reviewer remarked that even with the correct size, he still could not get the funnel to fit. As the other reviewer noted, this was the reason I bought the item, and we were both unable to use the funnel for that purpose.The one piece of useful advice I can give is regarding the distributor tool. Most distributors are solid cylinders that distribute the pile of grounds by rotating and producing a flat surface of grounds in the portafilter. This item, by contrast, has a set of wire spikes that are designed to break up clumps of coffee grounds. Although that might be a valid concern, it also would tend to spill even more coffee grounds onto the counter. So I would recommend instead a distributor tool that is the standard solid cylinder.The tamper does seem to work well. However, for the price, there may be better choices out there.

Decent Espresso Kit, but Not Perfect
This 58mm Espresso Accessories Kit is a decent addition to my coffee setup, but it falls short of being a five-star product. The dosing funnel is a nice touch and does a good job of keeping the coffee grounds from making a mess. However, the spring-loaded tamper feels unsatisfying, no matter how I adjust the spring tensionâit just doesn’t provide the smooth, controlled tamping experience I was hoping for. As for the WDT tool, it’s fine, but I could easily do without it. Overall, itâs a decent kit that gets the job done, but the quality and functionality could be improved.
