Works well, feels quality
This distributor works well with our 54mm portafilters (Breville and a couple of aftermarket ones we prefer more). It feels heavy and well-machined. I didn’t really think we needed one until we got a second coffee grinder (sometimes you need decaf, and our Barista Touch Impress does this stuff for us when you use the beans in the hopper, but alas it only has one hopper…) and I was trying to knock espresso grounds into something I could tamp with my finger. This is so much quicker and does a much better job.My partner grumbled that it was slightly challenging to find just the right height, but I didn’t think it took him that long and figure he’s just being histrionic. His other complaint, which I suppose is legitimate, is that grounds can make it over the top of the distributor portion of the tool, into the lip between the top of the distributor itself and the adjustment wheel. Fair, grounds can indeed make it in there, but come on, a consequence of owning an expresso machine is that there will be espresso grounds in lots of places, and it’s not like they’re hard to blow out into the sink, the trash, or a knock box.Quality tool I imagine will outlive us.

Works great
Works well enough, distributes grounds evenly to allow for better tamping. I think my filter basket feels just a smidge too tight with this, but I blame my filter not the distributer. I use this and tamp HARD afterward and end with a perfect cuppa and a perfect puck afterward- my husband, for whatever reason, refuses to do this correctly and he always leaves a sludgy-muddy mess in the basket… so this absolutely does make a difference!

Helps to level out my grinds in my portafilter very well, and decreases channeling in my shots. I used to have bad channeling until I developed better puck prep habits with the Vourmio WDT and this distributor. Great build quality and extremely sturdy construction, easy to clean and also easy to adjust. Sits in my portafilter very well.

This VOURMIO 53mm Coffee Distributor was intuitive to adjust and has worked well to help compact my espresso grounds before tamping. The build quality is impressive, and it feels durable. As a novice espresso maker I do enjoy a new tool to help me with the process now and again. The VOURMIO coffee distributor is a great little tool to help prep the puck. It took a little bit of testing to find the exact depth to adjust the head to but once I found a good spot it was really a “set it and forget it” tool. To set depth you loosen the two black rings, and then screw the lower ring either clockwise or counter clockwise to adjust the depth of the bottom, then screw the upper ring back against the lower to lock it all in place. Grind your beans into your portafilter, then apply light pressure and a slow twist with the distributor to evenly distribute your grounds. Only a half twist at the most is really needed. I also like to use a tamper to set my puck to the proper density. Though you may find the distributor works well on its own. If you really want to you can use a needle stirrer to break up clumps before you use the distributor but you may find it unnecessary. Your mileage may vary.The distributor is very well machined, solid metal with a nice finish and excellent smooth threads. I expect it to offer years of service. Worthy of consideration.

There’s no more mess trying to level the coffee grounds before tampering and the distribution is perfect and consistent every single time.I have a Breville Barista Express and I’m using the original filter basket, and the fit is perfect.For the tool itself, it feels heavy and really high quality.

I’m very impressed with this distributor! I’ve shown five photos of its use in a 54mm OEM bambino plus portafilter with the OEM non pressurized double dose basket, OEM tamper and 17g of espresso:1. Dosed grinds2. Distributor fits perfectly in the basket and is satisfying to spin3. Post-spin (nice and level)4. OEM bambino plus tamper with no pressure5. After tampingNote that the depth is adjustable but at the smallest depth setting, the distributor is exactly the same thickness as the stainless band on the OEM tamper (this thickness is meant to help beginners determine the correct tamp pressure). What this means is that dosing a full 18g into this particular basket may make this distributor a bit difficult to use cleanly as it might protrude a bit too deep into the basket, and it may pre-tamp a bit too much. I’d love to see this design modified slightly to have less protrusion at its smallest depth setting since 54mm baskets are already a bit on the small side for full double-shot doses. That being said, this works well for this particular machine, and probably will for most 54mm basket set ups. It is satisfying to use and the construction is really nice (see final photo for a disassembled view). I’m looking forward to trying the tamper that this company builds as well.

The VOURMIO 53mm Coffee Distributor has made a big difference in how my espresso turns out. Itâs easy to adjust the height, so I can get the right level no matter how much coffee Iâm using. The three-sloped design spreads the grounds evenly, which really helps with consistency.The base feels sturdy and well-made, and the handle has a nice grip that doesnât slip. It works perfectly with my Breville machine and has become something I reach for every time I make espresso. If you want your shots to come out better, this tool is definitely worth it.
