Looks great, functions beautifully
The hardwood and chrome are perfect together. Allows consistent tamping pressure every time without the concern of uneven grinds. The variety of spring weights is a nice addition and my wife loves the tiny portafilter keychain it comes with!

Put straight to use
Fantastic product. I immediately swapped out the 25lb spring that comes pre installed for the 20lb spring because majority of customers prefer a milder espresso. The first few tamps I did just blew me away. This product makes consistency a subconscious action. This is great if you have multiple people making espresso on a line and need consistent taste.

Tamp calibration requires a finer grind
My KNODOS Calibrated Espresso Tamper 58mm arrived securely packed and came with an additional 20lb and 30lb springs with keyhole pins/keys, a portafilter keychain charm, and instructions.First Impression:This tamper comes in a beautifully designed box that instantly elevates it to a premium product in my mindâs eye, so kudos to the KNODOS marketing/branding team. The tamper was nestled securely in foam alongside a few thoughtful extras: two replacement springs with turnkeys, and a charming little portafilter keychain. The tamper itself is a sight to behold, featuring a sleek silver shaft and base, and a well-oiled ergonomic wooden handle. I like the unique shape, and the wide flat top is comfortable against my palm. Itâs also heavy, which is immediately noticeable when you pick it up (finally, a heavy spring-loaded tamper!) While the ripple plate is aesthetically pleasing, the ripples unfortunately lack depth.Performance:I was eager to put this heavy-duty tamper to the test, hoping it would revolutionize my espresso routine. Unfortunately, this reality fell short of my expectations. Despite its substantial weight, the tamper produced a surprisingly weak tamp on my pre-distributed dose (see pics.)Even after swapping the spring for the stronger 30lb option, my puck remained barely pressed and dusty once again. I tried again with a non-distributed dose (just WDTâd,) and I managed to achieve a better-looking ripple impression, but the puck wasnât nearly tight enough, so water flow was excessively fast and it resulted in a watery/under-extracted espresso.Puzzled at why this tamper was underperforming and releasing the spring too early (not compressing enough,) I switched to my standard-HE hybrid basket and a much finer grind (went from 2.8macrons all the way down to 1.2.) I didnât distribute and just WDTâd, and score! I achieved a much better compressed tamp and produced a decent shot.Final Thoughts:The KNODOS tamper is undeniably a beautiful piece of equipment, and the wide ergonomic handle is a dream to use, but the lack of pressure transfer for those who use standard baskets/coarser grinds falls short of expectations. However, it does excel with finer grinds and specialized baskets. Overall, any espresso aficionado who values both form and function in their espresso arsenal will appreciate this tamper’s premium build quality, substantial weight, and striking design.

Incredibly high quality
Product could easily have been sold for twice as much and the quality would still not disappoint. The packaging and build quality are amazing! The bottomless portafilter keychain thing was a nice touch, definitely needed that in my life

Seizes up
Product is defective, spring seizes up. Tried to get it to work multiple times. Just donât bother. Get something that is a single pressure because this has too many parts, itâs too complicated. I never could get it to work. Itâs just junk.

Best Tamper Iâve used
Comes with xtra springs for different tamp pressure. I have just been using the factory installed spring 25 lbs and giving it 2 presses and coming out perfect and even. Most importantly it works perfectly and an added bonus it looks and feels amazing.

Nice design, but as long as it has only two springs mechanism, it cannot not work as a torque wrench as expected, so the pressure is not constant, what’s more, I meassured the pressure of the stiffest spring, the pressure is about 9,5kg. It works more like a good even distributor.

Great tamper,
I do wish that the part that keeps the tamper level, that rests on the portafilter would rotate with the twist that you absolutely must do, otherwise so many grounds stick to the bottom of the tamper. This is a well made device. Itâs gotten rid of a few other espresso gadgets on top of my espresso machine.
