Good for store bought. 365 Pacific Rim Vienna
I usually roast my own GOOD coffee but it’s honestly a hassle (the smell) so I haven’t done it recently. In the interim I bought this presumably Indo blend and have been happy with the results. The reason I chose this is because the price was around half off. The best by date was around 5 months away which usually means this is a 7 month old coffee. Nothing unexpected.First off, the roast level of these look in the gray zone between medium dark and vienna which is perfect for me. Not super dark, not too much grinder-clogging oils. I was expecting more oil from a bulk roasted vienna. Still plenty of aroma, as expected from an oily darker roast. The taste. My experience with grocery store coffees is that the first brew taste great but the stale flavors get rapidly picked up already by the next day. This is usually because it was kept “fresh” from nitrogen packing. So the first brew is fantastic. Exactly what I expect from a standard Sumatra blend. Lots of earthy bean taste. Doesn’t have any spice or smoky notes. Medium body, medium sweetness, no astringency from underripe cherries. Bitterness is low enough to drink black and no perceptible acid.I’m not expecting the next brews to taste as good but I got my moneys worth from this Whole Foods brand.

Good tasting strong coffee
Has a strong pleasant taste. I am not aware of how mold-free this brand is. I have not had issues when drinking it.

Tasty Darker Roast
Iâve gotten away from most dark roasts since upgrading my coffee maker and burr grinder. These beans are very fragrant and not like burnt like some dark roasts are. The color straight out of the brew cycle is a medium to dark brown and the flavor is mocha like with a little cocoa. For me this is really good coffee Iâll add to my rotation.

As Good or Better than Any Other
Organic and tastes great. What else can you ask for?You would have to be a coffee expert to find a shortcoming, if any, in these coffee beans. I have had a lot worse among competing brands. But I have not had any better. And I have paid more for competing brands that did not taste as good.I will stick with this brand, and get the subscription discount.

1st order great, 2nd order bad
My local store was out of my usual organic, french roast coffee for over a week so I looked to Amazon for something comparable in type and price. I was most pleased with the 365, Pacific Rim, Vienna Roast. It came vacuum packed and was obviously very fresh. When I opened the bag the beans gave off a great aroma. And, I was not disappointed after grinding and brewing. The promising aroma of the beans carried through strong and bold in the flavor of the brewed coffee. This coffee is even a slight savings over my usual brand and I might even venture to say a little tastier!5/28/22 Update: I was so pleased with this coffee the first time I bought it that I didn’t hesitate to order again when my local store was out of my usual beans. What a disappointing difference! Beans were DRY. When I ground them at the usual setting they were powdery like talcum powder. The beans had no odor and when I ate a couple there was no flavor. It was the same when I brewed a pot… no coffee odor or flavor. And, no, there was no problem with my nose or taste buds. When I got my usual, local beans a day later everything was perfect. The first bag I got from Amazon was very firmly vacuum packed. This second bag was not. This may have been the reason for the poor quality of the beans… although I could find no where that the bag had leaked. If my local store runs out again when I need beans I will try another brand but I will not buy these again. I have given a 3 star rating as the average between the 5 star first order and the one star second order.

First of all I support this coffee az it is small farmer co-op. I am a coffee lover from before Starbucks was Starbucks. I’d like to think I know what makes a good cup of coffee and at this point in my life I give these beans Aces.
