After watching Plastic Planet and other documentaries I was so shocked what plastic does to the animals and humans, so I decided to change my lifestyle: I started to grow my food to reduce plastic consumption and started my EcoPeaceful zero-waste business in 2012 to manufacture organic, natural and non-toxic products that are packaged plastic-free and in the most Eco-friendly way possible.
If you make your own food & drinks (tea/coffee, smoothies…) then mason jars are an important part of your daily life. What you may not know is that the common canning metal lids have a PVC/vinyl coating with a plastisol/PVC seal gasket. That has always bothered me since the liquid in the jar vapors and drops back down into my drink or food. I became especially concerned when I saw that the vinyl coating was flaking off just from putting vinegar in a glass jar (it was not even touching the coated metal lid). I was inspired to look for alternative lid solutions.
Plastic caps lids are also not a good option since the plastic degrade and shed microplastics & release toxic chemicals; BPA-free is rarely truly BPA-free and/or replaced with worse chemical(s). Plastic lids are breakable, heat-sensitive (can’t be boil to sanitize); and the most important for me – pollutes the environment and harms/kills wildlife. Using stainless steel lids with a silicone gasket also gives me peace-of-mind since they are built to last ‘forever’, so no need to be wasteful by constantly throwing away and buying metal or plastic lids.

silicone gasket jar lids
First, these are not for canning. I wasn’t looking for canning lids. I am trying to avoid plastics and all the forever chemicals. So I am using glass jars because that is the safest to use right now. Getting these lids is a godsend. They seal well (no leaking), easy to remove and dishwasher safe. It just makes using the glass jars so much easier! Quality stainless and silicone gaskets. I also freeze in them. Honestly, if you’re looking into a working lid for glass jar storage – these are it! They come in regular size and wide mouth. Made in the USA. Free from all the chemicals you’re trying to avoid – or at least the ones we know about. Woman owned business. Checks all the boxes for me!

Safe materials and easy to use
This is the second set of lids I have purchased. I have had no issues with the first set in the six plus months of use. The lids and seals are easy to use and especially to clean. They can be washed in the dishwasher or by hand. Much easier to handle than reusing the old rings and seals. The SS lids and the teflon seal prevent any plastic getting into food stored in our food.

These are very nice lids. Fit my jars perfectly and the inside seals are nice and thick. Easily removable and washable. I will probably buy more and will definitely recommend them.

Surpassed Expectations
Rarely does anything on Amazon surpass expectations but these do. I had to search through my orders to find them as I want to order more as Iâve mostly swapped to storing leftovers and dressings and what have you into mason jars as theyâre easier to clean. These lids work perfectly, the silicon seal is super strong and theyâve held up for years now with no issues.

Stainless lids
I am trying to store more pantry items in jars so the contents last longer and also not have to worry about creepy crawlers getting in the food. These seem like good lids although I would have preferred they were a bit more heavyweight than they are. Iâm hoping they last a long time and not rust. I prefer stainless more than aluminum or tin. I will probably buy some more. I donât understand why they arenât in packages of 12 since most jars come in boxes of a dozen.? They fit my jars well. Recommend you try them.

Safe, functional, leak-free lids!
I have used mason jars for a lot of the food my family consumes the last 10 years or so. I was very surprised to recently discover that the lids often have BPA. Also, I was disenchanted how often the lids rust even though I hand washed and dried them.In search of a safer option, I found these. I could not be more pleased. I have found them to be leak free for my coffee, chia jars, and salad dressings. They are easy to clean, nice looking, and I anticipate will last a long time!One of the lids was missing a silicone sealing insert when our order arrived. I e-mailed the company, and the owner responded very timely and shipped several new inserts! So, personalized, wonderful customer service to boot!
