Basic assembly instructions:

Insert the threaded steel rod into the face of the silicone disc that is the farthest from the fins and twist in a clockwise direction.Place the launcher on the countertop with the narrow side down.Insert the rod and plunger assembly. This will cause the fins on the silicone part to compress.Place assembly on mason jar with the pointed end of the rod entering the jar first. Center the launcher on the jar mouthPress the assembly until the plunger leaves the launcher. Push downwards until it rests in the uppermost region in the jar. You may have to adjust the adjusting rodCover the plunger with your brine or fermenting medium. Place gasket in a drilled lid. Insert 3 piece airlock into the hole. Push until 1/4″ of the tip of the airlock is visible on the bottom of the grommetRemove the cap from the airlock and add water to the fill line or 1/2 fullPlace assembled fermenting lid on your jar and follow fermenting procedure according to recipe

This is fermenting salsa. It was blender prepared and very hard to hold! This type of “mash” ferment will attempt to ruin by floatie development early in the ferment or by forming a powerful “plug” what will dislodge many fermenting weights.

Using the Pickle*Pusher is easy to do in 1/2 gallon mason jars BUT relies on the jar’s contents for support. Sauerkraut will support the Pickle*Pusher but salsa would not in the larger mason jar. ! Some people use in pint jars by altering their rod’s length to accommodate the smaller jar’s depth

No downward pressure that I can figure out!

    OMG these are the BEST
First of all this is the first time I have tried to make my own Sauerkraut. I found this product on another site and was happy to find it on Amazon. I have had wonderful emails back and forth with the Creator of this and was THRILLED, My First Sauerkraut (Garlic Sauerkraut) was super successful. Hubby is thrilled with the Sauerkraut and so is our best Male friend. So now I do have to make more. So glad that I bought the two pack, as it has parts to make 2 full quarts. One head of Cabbage and two Carrots per Quart. I also bought the Blue Ball Quart Jars as the color helps to keep it darker while fermenting. I had no leakage, no problems whatsoever. This item for fermenting is a Quality Product and I am Thrilled with my purchase. BEWARE of the LOOK a LIKES….they do not compare in quality and end product. I did take pictures and when I find them I will post.Found the pic’s.1. everything washed and ready2. Used my Mandoline to slice up the cabbage3. Packed up and doing it’s thing, this is about 3 weeks timeI let it go for 4 weeks, good stuff.

The juries out o this one
I’ve used a lot of different fermenting lids and was really excited to try the Pickle Pusher. I loved the fact that it would keep the produce being pickled beneath the surface of the brine, such as sauerkraut wit smaller bits. Oddly with every jar I used the pickle pusher system on I got Kahn yeast growing. I’ve actually have had the best luck with the jars with the hinged lid, and weck jars. Just an occasional burp for the hinged lids or topping off with brine for the weck. They both give me Kahn yeast free ferments.

Product is Excellent, Sellers are Perfect
Great experience using this product. I make Garlic Onion Fermented Honey. This keeps the Garlic and Onions below the surface and I don’t have to touch anything for 28 days. My only recommendation if using a thick honey is that you only fill the honey 2/3 of the jar, apply the green Pickle Pusher Product making sure the top of the rod is threaded just below the lid and then finish filling. Honey will not go past the green Pickle Pusher Product such as water or other products. Yes, I already learned. I also had a great experience with the seller who is perfect to work with. Shipping might take a little longer but I assure you this product is worth the wait.
