The item I never knew I needed, now can’t live without.
My French press came with a coffee scoop, similar in size to a regular measuring spoon, but round. At some point, right about the same time Bed Bath and Beyond closed, that scoop was misplaced leading me to Amazon to find a replacement. I wasn’t keen on these long handled metal scoops at first until I read a review pointing out how easy it is to scoop the coffee out of the bag. Well, let me just tell you, it is SO easy now. The set comes with two scoops, one 2T for coffee and the other 1T which I use for brewing large amounts of loose tea (3 servings). The coffee scoop is slightly longer. I just bought two more sets to give as gifts along with bags of coffee and tea. Why keep this amazing secret to myself?I haven’t had any problems with these. People reviewed other products that snapped where the scoop and handle meet. I’m not going to test it but it seems pretty strong. They are also a very good weight. They clean very easily, like any piece of silverware. I haven’t put them in the dishwasher though, because it’s just a coffee scoop that takes seconds to rinse. Maybe that’s why people were having problems with other brands.Summary: Buy it, even if you don’t think you really need it. If you buy ground coffee or loose tea, you need this.
