Good Espresso Cups, A bit Pricey
These are very nice, solid espresso cups at a price. Made in China.Pros:+ well finished+ good form (personal, I know) and fairly attractive with an old-fashioned feel+ well insulated (handle doesn’t get hot and espresso stays hot)+ hold an espresso size serving with extra space for cream or sugarCons:- On the heavier side compared to other cups- fairly expensive ($~15 for 2 at time of review)7/17/24: updated to 4 stars. The Amazon page now states China as country of origin (it was not listed before – I had triple checked). Most products made in China have decent quality (compared to some 3rd world locations) so I am updating this review from 3 to 4 stars.Original review:Finale note: we looked everywhere – it’s not stated anywhere on the packaging where these are made and (as of the writing of this review) it’s not on the Amazon page for the product as well. Why does that matter? Some countries still use lead paint – I’d like to be sure of the origin the items I drink hot liquids from. It’s a concern that should be addressed.

Stylusella’s Pure White Set of Two Ceramic Espresso Cups are a solid addition to my brewing station.I personally look forward to the daily ritual of making my morning espresso. From grinding, distributing and tamping the coffee, to pulling and serving the shot, there is a satisfaction I find in completely focusing on creating that first double of the day. It is as close as I can get to appreciating the traditional Japanese tea ceremony.As such, I like to add objects that will allow me to continue to enjoy the experience as special. I’ve been using thick glass, cut-crystal-like espresso cups, and have been unhurriedly looking to add some traditional ceramic ones for quite a while. Stylusella’s set is just what I had in mind.Its lines are clean and understated, with thick ceramic that is beautifully, heavily glazed in pure white. These are commercial quality, capable of withstanding the jostling of everyday use while maintaining their sparkle. They remind me of a contemporary take on the brown-ware espresso and cappuccino cups used in cafes throughout Italy. And, like those cups, have a comfortable feel in both the hand and between the lips. Their size perfectly holds my 40+ gram double with sufficient room for sugar or syrup.If I was allowed one wish, it would be the option of having a matching saucer.As you might be able to tell, I’m very pleased using them and am more than happy to fully recommend them.
