Great starter kit for novice user. Im giving a four star because it does not go into details on how to take care of the scoby after the first brew. I had to look up on line for more information.

Perks:- temperature sticker is functional! (I expected this to be a gimmick.)- 1 gallon jar has lid. (Some others didn’t.)- The kit came with little starter guide. (You’re not missing out on anything if you don’t get this product. It is nice to have a quick reference sheet, which you could find on the internet.)Downsides:- I would like to have more than 1 cloth so I can do back-to-back batches with a clean cloth each time.- I wish the 1 gallon jar had notches for the # of cups so i could use the jar instead of a measuring cup. I measured it out and drew some lines in sharpie, but it was pretty tedious.

I really enjoyed this kit. It came with simple directions that were easy to follow, and all the ingredients I needed to make it simple. I’m currently on my third batch of kombucha. I think this would make a good gift for health-minded individuals.
