Good quality, even distribution
I’ve fallen down the espresso rabbit hole. Adding this distributor to my routine to level out my puck is very relaxing for me. I can’t really tell if it’s improving the quality of my extraction, but my friends and family love the way that I make their espresso so I’ll keep doing it, I suppose. The distributor is made very well. It feels sturdy in the hands and has a very satisfying feel when pressed down against the coffee grounds.I use kind of cheap coffee beans so it requires a little bit of extra beans that requires a dousing funnel. I have to do an initial tamp with the provided tamper but I always felt like it was uneven until I started using this.

Excellent all around espresso leveler – a solid performer – plus it looks great!
Overall: Recommended! Great product for leveling your espresso. Does what it needs to nothing fancy but has a nice weight to it. Cheers

Solid, Heavy
This thing is more or less bombproof as far as I can tell. It is very solid, constructed from a little wood and a lot of steel. The knurling is nice, making this easy to hold on to, even when wet – given how heavy is it that’s a good thing. Depth adjustment is simple – loosen the screw and then rotate the leveling face to extend or retract. I’m not a huge fan of the wedge shape of the face – I prefer the “fan blade” style – but it still does a good job of leveling, though occasionally there’s a line left where the tip of the wedge was. This always presses out just fine, but it does kind of irk me.Aesthetically it’s not my favorite piece – it’s got kind of a steampunk look to it and I tend to like more wood, but that’s totally a personal preference and isn’t a reflection on the design or the function, both of which are fine. For what the deign is, the fit and finish are nice – the wood accent top sits nicely on the steel body and the body itself is all high polish with no weird blemishes or poor workmanship observable. And yes, it really is heavy. It is the heaviest leveler I own, and that includes for my 58 baskets. This could be seen as a pro or a con, depending on how you feel about it – I’ve had some levelers that were so light you had to press them while spinning or they’d be in danger of popping out of the basket. This definitely doesn’t have that problem – drop it in and give it a whirl or two and you’re good to go. Personally I see that as a feature, but you might not. Forewarned/forearmed.

Solid. Functional. Handsome.
This distributor is as beautiful to look at as it is functional. With a genuine wood top and hefty weight, it feels great in your hand. It is heavy! At 649 grams it is almost twice as heavy as another distributor I have. It fits perfectly in the Breville 54mm portafilter. I’ve been making espresso for awhile, but my daughter, the barista, convinced me I needed this in my home espresso tool kit. This one is premium quality with adjustable height. While probably not a necessity, I have found that it actually improves the consistency and quality of my morning brew and with its good looks, I can leave it out next to the espresso machine to show I am a true coffee snob.

Works Better than the Blade
We somehow managed to lose the blade that came with our espresso machine. This happens to also match a bottomless portafilter that we got so everything looks nice since we use it at least daily and don’t bother to put the accessories away. Even nicer, it works better! It feels substantial when holding it and tamps the espresso well.

Coffee tamper
This coffee distributor and tamper fits my 54 inch port filter perfectly. It works well to distribute the coffee, grinds and tamp them down into a perfect puck. It is weighted well to allow easy use without having to apply too much force.

beautifully made
This is an extremely high-quality espresso leveler. It has noticeable weight to it and has a bottom attachment that is clear that it rests in. The distributor has a smooth stainless steel surface that is cut to move your grounds in a smooth motion. The turning is done easily and the removal of the distributor requires a simple wiping of the bottom surface and you are all done. This is a great gift for anyone that is in to third wave specialty coffee making.

Updated: A little tricky but it works well and looks great
Update:After contact with the seller, I spent a bit more time with this handsome leveling device. There are super tiny lines on the side to help you adjust the depth for leveling. There are two parts that can spin, so it took a bit of fiddling to figure out what needed to move, and find the right depth for my setup. I’m glad I did, because now it works perfectly. I’ve adjusted it up to only four stars because it didn’t come with instructions and it wasn’t obvious how to make it work.Original review:This is an elegant espresso accessory. It has a nice weight to it, looks and feels well made, and fits perfectly on my 54mm Solis portafilter. Too bad it isn’t well designed. Its one simple job is to level the espresso grounds in the portafilter before tamping. It looks similar to others of this style, so why does it leave the grounds at uneven heights? (See photos) If it turns out to be a user error and I can get it to work, I’ll be sure to update. For now I’m back to tapping the sides of the portafilter to get a level surface. And yet it looks so nice in person that I had to give it 2 stars.

I’m pretty new to making espresso at home, but this distributor has been a great help! It evenly spreads the coffee grounds, which makes a noticeable difference in how smooth my shots turn out. The tool feels really nice to hold, and it fits perfectly with my Breville machine. I didnât expect something like this to be so helpful, but itâs made my espresso-making a lot more fun and consistent! Definitely recommend for fellow beginners.
