I went a long time just using regular bowls to whisk matcha, but either they were not wide enough to do a good whisk or not deep enough so matcha splashes onto the table. I also didnât have anything with a spout so Iâd lose part of the matcha I whisk up. I decided to get this bowl that I thought would be unnecessary, but honestly it has become one of my most useful purchases, and I use it 3-4 times a week. Making matcha has been much more fun, and I feel like a pro!

Perfect size for one or even two servings
The size of the bowl is perfect to be able to whisk the Matcha. There is also ample room to make a little extra if youâd like to share a bowl of Matcha with someone. The quality is very good and the spout for the pour is excellent. I am very satisfied with this and highly recommend it.

Got this as a gift for my DIL and she adores it. The green ombre is beautiful and the construction is solid. The size appeared to be substantial, but since I don’t drink matcha, it’s hard to know… but based on my daughter’s reaction, it was more than enough. She’s already used it a couple of times and loves it, so must be a winner!

It’s a bowl – a well-made, heavy matcha bowl. The tops curve sliiiightly inward so there’s less of a chance of spilling your matcha. As a tea enthusiast and amateur baker, the spout is truly its best feature.

Chawan with Spout: Perfect size and many uses
I’ve wanted one of these for ages. To me as a matcha drinker, whisking is very important, but I hesitated to get a dedicated bowl for storage concerns.This doesn’t look out of place with most contemporary dish sets. I like its heft and solidness. The ivory white is attractive.The missing star is due to the fact that I ordered 2 of these; one had an uneven base and a couple of tiny black specks, and the other had a pimple on the outside near the spout. I believe the vast majority of people aren’t going to notice these things, but I felt I should at least be able to get one I was happy with, out of 2 attempts. I am keeping the ‘pimpled’ one because I don’t feel like bothering further, but still, I would like the maker to rectify manufacturing blemishes, because it sure seems greater quality control or an improved process may reduce the blemishes.I think this chawan would make most matcha makers happy because of it satisfies on both form and function.
