Exactly what I was looking for
I had seen a few of these mead kits out but none of them came with the bottles to store the mead once it’s made. When I found this set, I was really pleasantly surprised to see the bottles were included! And pretty much for the same cost as all the other options. This is a great deal. The box just arrived, everything looks great. I can’t wait to use it!

Iâm really impressed with how much you get for the price. All high quality materials. I love that the hydrometer is included for gravity readings and that I donât have to spend extra money for storage bottles elsewhere since they are included here. I think you can make this mead successfully without measuring the gravity, but itâs nice they include it for people with some home brewing experience (like me) since I like to confirm the fermentation is complete. This is a well put together kit.

Brew Your Own Mead
Much home brew and microbrewing beer broke out in the 1990s, and apple cider (the alcoholic type) has done recently, mead is now having its day. As with beer and cider, making your own mead can be a lot of fun and very rewarding. Plus depending on what type of honey you use, you can create unique flavors that will be sure to impress your family and friends. Blue Ox provides a foolproof kit that lets you ferment your own mead. All you need to add is the honey. Besides providing you an easy to follow instruction book, they also have a video online. The video complements the book, and lets you see exactly what you want to do at each step. It takes about a month to make your first batch of mead, but the vast amount of that time is waiting for the fermentation to fully take place. Hands on-time is minimal. Once you are done fermenting and drinking the results of your labors, you can use all the equipment to make future batches. You just need to order more yeast (make sure you get a type like D47 that works well for mead), nutrients and sanitizer. This Mead Making Kit is a great gift for anyone who wants to brew their own mead.

Excellent mead making kit!
This is one of my most enjoyable Amazon purchases in recent memory (and Amazon says I’ve had 100 purchases in the past 3 months, so that’s saying something). This is a very reasonably priced kit that contains all one needs to make small batches of mead (a delicious honey wine, for those who don’t know what mead is).I have dabbled in homebrewing beer for over a decade, having produced over 40 5-gallon batches of beer. I had tried my hand at mead-making once before, but I used ingredients that couldn’t be satisfactorily sterilized and it came out poorly.What I like about this kit is that it can open the door to homebrewing for many. It’s small, so it can be done in an apartment. It takes just a few minutes and no complicated boiling/mixing of hops as with beer. It’s also affordable. The kit can be reused, but you’ll need to get more yeast. You also need to bring your own honey (40 oz per batch), but again, compared to beer or wine making, much more economical.I’m in the process of making my first batch, so I can’t comment on the taste, but am sure looking forward to it!

My first Mead making kit
Order this because I always wanted to try making mead myself. I see. Every one making their own wine all the time and I wanted to try something different.This kit comes with everything you need except for the water and the honey. All the items that are included are premium items. The jug and the glass bottles are both made with really thick heavy duty glass including the caps for the bottles which are made with really premium quality stoppers. I like the fact that it contains a alcohol percentage tester. The instructions are well laid out and easy to follow. They are explained a in the most basic form so anyone could understand them. Even if you’ve never made Mead before. I would definitely recommend this kit to anyone that’s wanting to try something like this.
