Awesome mat!
This is a thick silicone mat that sits on the edge of your counter, with a divet built in for resting the portafilter of your espresso machine while you tamp the coffee. It provides secure cushioning that allows you to tamp the espresso in the portafilter without damaging your countertop or your portafilter. Best thing about it (apart from it doing the job well) was the price–it was under $3.00 ! I bought a relatively inexpensive espresso machine few months ago, and didn’t know I needed this until I had used the machine many times. It makes the process so much easier.
