Knockout Quality
I thought that choosing a middle of the road priced one would bring better quality, based on many reviews of manual coffee grinders. Many of the lower cost hand units met with some less than admiral reviews. So I stepped up to this one which looked simple, yet well made . I really like having the grind coarseness numbering system selector right on the body of the grinder. The box this grinder comes in is extremely well designed and made! If that was not enough of a pleasant surprise, even the high density rubber that holds the grinder securely in the box is of artisan quality! The rubber mold over that wraps around the glass catch jar is perfect and offers a firm grip to keep the machine in place while turning the handle. This grinder has a generously long handle with a securely attached black knob, and is very easy to assemble. I studied the design of the grinder head which performs all of the work, and have found it to be superior to most other designs offered. Bottom line: By far the best mobile hand coffee grinder I have ever owned. I do not impress easily, and I am overly critical….. just ask my wife. The cons– not much to complain about, but there is a nut on the bottom you must remove in order to take it apart. I would have really been impressed if all you had to do to clean it was snap your fingers and click your heels three times, but yeah… OK–I’m done now.

Quality grinder for solid extraction
This product is amazing, simplistic, well built, and performs better than expected. The operation is straightforward, you simply drop your whole beans into the top of the grinder, place the handle on top, and rotate clock wise. The grinds drop into the glass container on the bottom that unscrews. Cleaning is fairly easy, though I would have liked a small brush included for fine detail cleaning. The only downside is the time/rotations necessary for finer grinding, but for the impatient I’ve thought of using a simple power drill to speed up the process.Overall a great grinder for the price, and definitely does its job for making great coffee/espresso.

Fantastic grind consistency. Fast and easy to use. Solid build.
I bought this hand grinder to replace a smaller “JavaPresse Manual Coffee Grinder” which I had been using since 2018. Recently I started brewing a good deal of Aeropress coffee, and the higher pressure of that technique tends to separate the grounds of differing size, causing clear stratification in the grinds “puck” after brewing. This stratification, and excessive grind dust in the brewed coffee, made it obvious my JavaPresse was not grinding the coffee very consistently. So I decided to upgrade.Well, this new grinder was not much more expensive, but it’s way better in every way:* The JavaPresse was brushed stainless. It was slippery so it was hard to grind. The VEVOK Chef has a textured surface that makes it very easy to hold when grinding.* The glass collection jar is very easy to see (my old grinder had a viewing window but I generally had to hold it up to the light to see just how much was in there)* The handle is the same basic size as my old grinder but has a bigger knob and ends up being more ergonomic.* Grinding is pretty fast with this grinder; I can grind a brewing’s worth of beans a good bit faster than the water will come up to temp in my water hotpot.* The grind setting is simple and repeatable without having to open the machine. There are only 6 grind settings, whereas the JavaPresse has a continuous grind adjustment, but…* The grind is consistent. VERY consistent. No grinder is going to be able to completely eliminate a little bit of grind dust, but this grinder does a very good job minimizing it. The JavaPresse was more of a “maximum size” setting.I looked at a lot of hand grinders, including some that were 3x more expensive than this one. Now that I’ve tried it out, I could not be happier. Full disclosure, I’ve only used it twice. From the design and the weight of the device I expect it to last many years.

A bit tippy
I have a few coffee grinders that I use for various spices. This grinder is on the rough side, other brands are more buttery. This is also too tippy, it would need to be heavier, or have a slightly shorter lever arm. I use this without the base, and it stands ok. I find the top design a little clunky.

Love this grinder for home and travel!
This grinder feels weighty and quality in hand. It has worked flawlessly for every cup of coffee Iâve made since I bought it: French press, moka pot, espresso maker, pour over, and drip maker. The wooden piece on the handle is beautiful and feels like it will last. I find it easy to clean with a small brush after using and hope that it will last as long as it feels like it will.It has helped me feel more connected to my coffee rituals by slowing it down and reducing the noise of an electric grinder first thing in the morning. This would make a lovely gift for the coffee lover in your life!

One is perfect, second one the crank handle goes on with more difficulty
I bought one of these and liked it so much I bought another, one for the camper and one for the house. On the latest purchase, the crank handle goes on with much more difficulty. I can get it on, but it doesn’t just go on like it does with the other one. So at this point, I have mixed feelings about the grinders. One is about perfect, the other not quite so perfect.

High quality grinder.
Excellent small grinder; high quality, solid construction; small enough for travel. I primarily use it for home; only drink a cup or two of coffee per day so it’s perfect for my needs. I purchase high-end organic coffee beans so I wanted a quality unit to match. Grinding is quick and relatively smooth; after the first few times, you get a feel for it. Easy to clean. Overall, a quality instrument worth the money.
