Customers say
Customers appreciate the small size of the electric food mill grinder. It uses up no counter space and is perfect for making coffee for one person. However, some customers have experienced durability issues with parts coming apart or being brittle. They also dislike the noise level. There are mixed opinions on grind quality, functionality, design, ease of use, and value for money.

Not a good place to spend your money
This product is exactly what it says it is, a small grinder for individual servings. It you want to serve two you will have to run it twice. It grinds slow and relatively quiet. Frankly I found it a little too slow but the worst thing is in about three weeks it fell apart. All the insides just seemed to fall apart. I had already planned to return it, now it is just a matter of getting the information to get it back to Amazon, I am expecting no problems.

Great for cold brew
This was my most practical COVID survival purchase. Unlike all other burr grinders, it doesn’t take up the whole countertop. It only grinds two scoops of beans, but that’s perfect for daily batches. The coarse grind is like a woodchipper (see the photo), and I’m using a medium grind for cold brew. It takes about two minutes to grind, and it can handle industrial-strength coffee beans. It’s about as loud as a spice grinder. The best feature is how easy it is to clean. You can pop the grinder open and rinse it out. You don’t have to spend 15 minutes going over it with a Playmobil broom like the full-sized models.Update 9/24: This thing is still going strong. I hope they release a USB C powered update.

Terrible durability with good form factor
I love the design of this grinder. Minimal counter space, easy to use, and does a good job grinding. Until it inevitably breaks in half. I am on my second one and after a year they just come apart. This needs a redesign to not pull itself apart. The plastic part in the middle just isnât up to the power of the motor. Expect this to be e-waste in less than a year.

Exceptional value for one or two cups a day.
This is an incredible buy for the under $25 price range. Once you find the grind size you like, it consistently reproduces that every time. It also has a small footprint. The drawbacks are the grinding time and messiness. Inexpensive burr grinders grind slowly to prevent the burrs from overheating and burning the beans. This one is no exception. Look to spend $200 if you want that 10 second grind time. When finished you will need an intermediate vessel to coax the grinds into. You’ll want something like a bowl to keep from making a huge mess and wasting coffee. I used one of these twice a day for almost 2 years with no issues. I even dropped it once, breaking the clear plastic center piece. I just taped it with shipping tape and it still worked fine.

Does what it’s supposed to do, but does it with a mess.
Bought this grinder hoping to have a smaller, countertop grinder to use mainly with my Aeropress. It works great, as advertised: grinds consistently on all settings and can be used for French press, Aeropress, drip and espresso. Having the cord attached to the top is a little inconvenient but I got over it quickly. What I really dislike and what is ultimately driving me to try another grinder is the MESS. It is impossible to use this machine without getting grounds everywhere on your counter. Pouring grounds from the “door” into the aeropress/French press is tricky and is guaranteed to make a mess. I started grinding without the coffee drawer, putting a funnel straight into my aeropress and holding the grinder in the air, letting the grounds fall through the funnel right into the Aeropress. This worked best for me but was really inconvenient and still caused a small mess even when done right.Overall, the grinder does its job. Would not recommend due to the mess it creates.

piece of junk
This broke shortly after the return window expired. Noisy to use, shaky, difficult to clean, took forever to grind beans for 2 cups of coffee (probably its capacity), and then the grinder separated from the motor. Fortunately it was only $17 and I figured it would break in a relatively short amount of time. So if you need to rent a grinder until you get a real one, for the price of 3-4 lattes at your favorite cafe, this product is for you!

My favorite grinder yet
I’ve been using this at least twice daily now for 4 months. Had to get the hang of it at first – put on the top with button vertical just to left of your grind choice setting and twist to close. Make sure bottom side opening is closed, then twist open to get out ground coffee. I tap the top of it with my palm to get the ground coffee out of the bottom. I did chip a little piece of plastic off it – that was user error not product fault and it hasn’t harmed the integrity of the grinder. I love it because I just press it and it does its job while I boil water and do some dishes or whatever. I personally don’t find it too loud – much quieter than other grinders. I fill to top for my 20 ounce mug and set on 2 (almost smallest grind) for cone filter pour over. My stove top tea kettle boils in almost the exact amount of time as the grind takes. It’s not to big on the counter – takes up minimal space. The cord is actually much longer than i need – so plenty of room if you want to keep it a bit far away from the outlet.

Do not buy – broke in less than a month & terrible customer service
I had a terrible experience with Brim. First of all, this unit broke in less than a month of use. Similar to other reviews on here, the clear compartment (where you place the beans) became loose and after turning the grinder on, the cord wraps around the entire unit and is completely unusable (and actually very dangerous).I reached out to Brim customer support to request a refund. They asked me to submit a picture of the sticker with the model info on it. Shortly after I did that they said they would like to process my refund right away, but in order to process the warranty they require a photo with a cut power cord to ensure the unit is completely disabled. I did this the same day and sent back a photo. It has now been 2 weeks since they have not responded to process my refund, and I have followed up twice with them.Absolutely terrible experience and customer service – save your money & do not buy this. I recommend the burr grinder from Bodum which is much higher quality, faster, and a similar price point.

This could be a great burr grinder for up to 30 g per dose, but the execution is poor, especially in the bottom section where the ground coffee collects.Forget to lock the top (where the motor is) because locking it is a pain. I run the unit putting the motor on top, no locking. The worse is the bottom where the ground coffee is collected. I simply discarded it and collect the coffee on a small glass jar that fits on the middle part.It grounds very slowly, so be patient and do something during the 2 minutes it takes to grind 30 g.Ideal unit, thought, if you are sort of space and do not need to grind more than 30 g

It looked great and worked great for 5 uses. Then it started to “woble” while it was running but everything felt fine and didn’t look like anything was broken. Less than 10 uses later it completely broke. Plastic housing gave way and now it just wraps itself around its cord and doesn’t find coffee. Would not recommend and wish I could get my money back. Not worth the price.

The compact design was nice. The grinder made a terrible noise as soon as the beans finished grinding. Four months from new something broke in the drive with parts rattling inside. It was hard to disassemble and reassemble each time you ground beans and the grounds hopper was difficult to remove to clean. I do not recommend this product. Bought a bigger European brand grinder and it performs quicker, quieter and has a more consistent grind result.

Works great, but the locking mechanism broke on the 3rd grind. No idea what happened or how to fix. Still works though, it just doesn’t turn to lock anymore, which makes it awkward to use. Grind is really good and very easy to use and clean.
