“Bel canto” is Italian for “beautiful song,” and we take great care to make sure the flavor of this espresso blend matches its inspiration. We develop this complex espresso by creating a base layer of low hues—heavy and rich beans from the American complement them with the intense, fruity coffees of Ethiopia. The result is a positively lilting coffee, with hints of sweet deep berries and dark cocoa powder. Decaffeinated at the Swiss Water Plant in Vancouver BC, using a natural water and carbon filter method.

Great for Lattes
Great price and I especially like that it is organic. This is a great decaf espresso that has a rich flavor. It’s perfect for making lattes.

Very smooth and not bitter, very enjoyable to the pallet.

IT TOOK ME YEARS TO FIND….
I like that this coffee is caffeine free or as they say 99.9% ð Also it’s 100% Arabica coffee beans.. medium roast.. I LOVE the flavor of this decaf coffee. It took me years to find even a decaf coffee that didn’t make me feel jitteryð but i was soo glad to find this one. I like to order the whole beans and grind them myself for a fresher taste. The only downside was this bag I ordered arrived close to expiration date so it wasn’t as fresh of a bag as I’m use to.. but hopefully that won’t happen with the next bag. Overall great coffee and wonderful flavor!!ðUPDATE: (8/11/22)I ordered another bag and this one also wasn’t as fresh as what I’d hoped for. It expires in about a month. Thinking I’ll try one more time with this coffee.. maybe if I order a flavor of it that’s purchased alot more then it’ll be fresher since it’s bought moreð¤ just a thoughtâºHope this review & update helps you!ð¤

Man this is good! Rich and flavorful…oh and fresh-tasting!
Bought to use in my new coffeemaker that uses whole beans. In the past I used to use the Starbucks Verona Decaf that came pre-ground. I’ve been looking for a good dark roast, yet decaf, coffee that came in whole beans since it appears that Starbucks doesn’t make one.So I bought this one with high hopes and I wasn’t disappointed!I typically mix equal measures of Starbucks Dark French Roast and their dark Verona Decaf. So I did a similar thing this time around with half of the Starbucks Dark French roast and half of this Allegro organic Decaf. First thing I noticed, which more than mildly surprised me, was that this Allegro Decaf was the SAME EXACT dark color as the Starbucks dark roast. Wow, that was a good start. This told me I was in for a treat since decafs are typically lighter in color. I really couldn’t tell the color or shape of the beans from the Allegro vs. Starbucks. After brewing them in my automatic drip Cuisinart machine I tasted the coffee. I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that there was absolutely no difference in the fullness of flavor compared to what I have been drinking all these years. In sum, this is definitely a dark and robust version of a great-tasting decaf coffee. The price is a little bit more expensive than the Starbucks, but well worth it to me for the following reasons:1. It tastes as good as Starbucks2. It’s rich in dark roast flavor3. It’s decaf, which is great on its own or good to use like I do by mixing it with regular caffinated coffee4. It’s ORGANIC…that’s an added bonus that makes up for the extra 15% cost vs. the regular pre-ground coffee I’ve been using5. Finally, it’s whole bean; there just aren’t too many decafs that come whole bean

Great taste
I was hesitant to purchase pre ground beans for my espresso machine, but this worked great.

Smooth robust flavor
This coffee is everything I was hoping for. I need decaf for health reasons but also like a strong coffeehouse flavor that is healthy. Since I read that decaf coffee can be made with a chemical process and Swiss Water Process was the healthier way to go I started my search. Landed on this brand and was so excited to find it. Love the flavor!

Swiss Water Processed for Safe and Healthy Decaf
This is a very mild blend so is not particularly satisfying. On the upside, it’s not bitter or burnt. It’s just overly mild for my tastes.

It is so good that it is hard to believe this is a decaff!!!
I’ve been a fan of the Allegro coffees for a while, so I trust the brand. I have come to the stage in life where sometimes I really want a cup of coffee, but I want to sleep at a reasonable hour, sooo, time to check out decaf. :)When I saw that there was an Espresso choice in the Allegro product line, I gave it a chance. It is GOOD!! Seriously GOOD!! I served it to a family member that is also fussy about coffee, and they insisted I was lying about the decaf part.Trust it!!
