Beautiful tea pot with large filter strainer for steeping loose tea
I love the ForLife borosilicate glass tea pots/jugs (have the iced tea jug that does not come with a strainer for steeping) but they are fragile and break easily, although the tradeoff is that they are light weight. After breaking one of the Iced Tea Jugs inadvertently (not difficult, must take care while washing and handling these) I paid significantly more for this Mist model with steeping strainer…beautiful glass construction, ample strainer (much larger than most others, but difficult to clean without a long brush or baby bottle cleaning tool). Holds more than any other glass tea pot and works well. The large capacity strainer allows the water to circulate more freely through the tea. On the negative side, expensive to replace if it breaks, so take care in handling and washing it!

Love this for making beautiful green tea
I have used this teapot for making making several cups of perfectly brewed, loose leaf green tea every day for years. It’s an ideal size (68oz = lots of tea), cleans easily (I pop it onto the top rack of the dishwasher) and has held up well (no cracks or breaks). Also, the Infuser seems to have been **made** for good quality, loose leaf green tea, which can be very fine and tends to either creep through a more open mesh…or gum up a tighter mesh. This mesh is just right. Also, the little lift-out handle for the Infuser is a sturdy, hinged plastic, so it doesn’t require a potholder when I want to lift out the basket to stop the brewing…just as the tea reaches a lovely, perfect color of green. I really like that this is clear glass, so I can see the tea as it brews. Also, the glass doesn’t ever get darkened by tea stains.I understand the disappointment other reviewers must have felt when their rather pricy teapot cracked or broke. Perhaps the glass is really best just for brewing tea…rather than for iced tea? Dropping ice cubes into a glass pot of hot or even warm water could be a problem? Just a thought. For brewing green tea, though, this is simply the best teapot I’ve ever used.

    Better than expected!
I was replacing another hard plastic but expensive ice tea maker, also with the insert to hold the tea. That plastic cracked on the lid so I was looking for glass. (With reservations, since my counters are very hard stone and have a reputation of pulverizing my glass items)So I ordered this, and have used it daily for almost two months. Its wonderful, easy to clean, easy to pour….in fact very nice design, fits well in the frig, large handle which is comfortable. I can’t find anything to not love about this Tea Jug. Also, the infuser is great if use loose tea as I do. Its a great design and cleans up easily as well. Go for it, beats Bodum’s plastic one.

Tea Princess and should be treated as such.
*Update. 2nd review =I’ve been using this for a few weeks now that warmer weather is upon us. I love it still. the pour spout is brilliant. I don’t have tea spilling all over the lace as I would with other pitchers (imagine a Brita water pitcher….I only tolerate that leaking because its just water) I’ve used caution due to some other reviews on cracking. I use boiling water to steep the tea, as you must do and then what I’ve done is let it get a little closer to room temperature before I put it in the fridge. I throw some ice in too speed it up if I need iced tea quicker. I think the trick is to not shock the glass. Obviously it is a bit fragile, it is after all glass. And is not tremendously thick. I do the same when I am taking it out of the fridge to use the last of tea and wash it. I use warm water to rinse it instead of hot water making sure not to shock the glass. So I still give it five stars, you just need to care for it more delicately. As for cleaning I’ve just been rising the glass and rinsing the infuser. I want to do as little clanking around as possible. I wipe the outside of the glass down with paper towel and set aside. the infuser takes a little more time since leaves get stuck in it. But that is normal. Happy tea drinking.* 1st review =Its pretty, which is most important since its just collecting dust right now. I haven’t had any shattering issues. I’ll let you know by summer if I do.

    Leaves competitors in the saucer!
I bought this hoping it would be fabulous and it is! Easy to use and clean. Not delicate but elegant. You can pour hot water right into it. Good for loose tea or bags. The strainer is awesome. It has a handle that folds down perfectly to kerp out of the way. Cleans up great and mesh is perfect….no stuff “gets out.” I had the competitor jug as you can see. I included a picture of the competitor to show that it now needs a saucer at the bottom due to a hairline crack. I would choose this glass one every day and twice on friday over the others!

    Cracked after 2 weeks.
I really wanted to like this pitcher. It looks great and is exactly what I was looking for to brew iced tea. Unfortunately it is also VERY thin and brittle. On my third brew the junction between the handle and the pitcher cracked. Fortunately I was still within my return window and could send it back. It is just a very thin pitcher. Companies may need to do this for them to withstand hot water but it is just really unfortunately I can’t find anything like this but thicker and more sturdy.I would not risk getting another one of these. If the pitcher had cracked any more it could have left boiling water all over me and my floor.

Really useful for making any tea – I bought it to make Papaya Tea. Make in the morning, take out the basket and put the jug in the fridge.
