    Good $30 Purchase
I did a quick look at the kit offerings, and calculated about $40 worth of beer making items; good value at $30 on Amazon. I’ll re-post later as to the quality and freshness of the kit ingredients; also how it tastes after I brew it. I’ts nice getting a hop bag, and bottle caps as a bonus. This kit took me about 90 minutes in my kitchen after I prepped everything, really easy.Update (3-1-18): The beer turned out well. It was light middle of the road brew, with moderate hops and decent mouth feel. This kit is a good base for making a larger beer; just add more malt and hops. I’m glad I purchased this kit. It was really easy to make; grains were already measured and cracked.

    Great beer for the price
This is a very solid kit for a first timer. I have brewed about 4 or 5 of these and put them on tap in our shop kegerator. Light malty flavor with a bit of bitterness. A bit stronger than other ambers, but not over-powering. Depending on the batch, some have been a bit sweeter than I would have liked, but still very drinkable.

    Better than ok.
Have been a home winemaker 40 years so not a total novice but first time brewing. Was an entertaining and enjoyable experience. I bought this particular one because I enjoy amber and most dark beers and because it was priced at a level I didn’t consider exorbitant. The result is a nice flavor with about .045 alcohol. It is nothing like amber in color. It is more the color of oiled walnut. I followed directions completely so it was nothing incorrectly done. Im trying another product but may do another of this down the road.

Great way to make good beer
Everything is included in the kit for a really good beer and I loved that the instructions included some extra tips for the process. The best part was the taste. A really good amber just as flavorful as any but better because it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg and I made it myself.

Makes a very good Red Ale!!
Great tasting Red Ale beer. This kit made some of the best tasting beer thus far. I have shared it with friends and family and they have all commented on its excellent taste. I highly recommend this kit.

    I’m impressed!
I haven’t even let this finish bottle conditioning yet, and it’s already great. A perfect balance if your ask me. It’s from a bottle, but tastes like draft beer to me. Great kit for the price. I followed the instructions exactly. My only secret was using El Dorado water, which is what a local distillery uses. If they don’t filter their water and buy great spring water instead, then I will too.

Seems good so far. I really like the brewers best kits. The only thing I don’t like is that the beers seem very dark in color. I assume that’s because they use a liquid malt extract. Maybe it will lighten up as it ages? I’ll update my review on taste etc when my beer is finished.

I’ll update after the beer is bottled, as to the taste and clarity of this amber lager. However, the instructions clearly calls for 2 packets of Willamette hops, added to the boiling wort 1/2 hour apart. My kit came with only one package. I really hope it doesn’t negatively impact the finished product, but as it sits now, I’m not thrilled at getting an incomplete kit.
