This actually delivers
I am a coffee enthusiast have sampled beans from all the corners of this planet. Including, the high slopes of Cuba. As I opened this on Christmas day, I was struck by the instant nostalgia of my good scotch drinking days, but am not easily impressed by pretty packaging, knowing the real proof is in the barrel, so to speak. I opened the bag and drew a deep breath in, off to a good start, the aroma was full, and a deep depth. I went with the traditional brew in a french press to compare it to my recent bean mixture. Keeping all the brewing variables consistent, I tried the first sip. Very full flavor, but not overpowering. I could tell tell the overtures of the tannins and oak profile from the bourbon barrel, and thought they were in perfect balance. Thinking for additional additional flavor profiles, I poured just splash of pappy in, oh yes, complete perfection. As I have said, wow, this product really deliverers and is worth every penny. Job Well done, job well done.

Not for work or driving lmao
Wow I don’t know where to begin with this. A coffee unlike any otherI prepared this as an americano. Plain black, no sugar, no cream. This is my go to.THE SMELLFirst off. It STINKS. It REEKS. Opening the bag, brewing it. Your kitchen will smell like you are an alcoholic lmao. Do not bring this to the office, do not drive with this IMO lmfaoThe cup itself reeks of bourbon. Its kind of overpowering. If I was police, and I smelled this shit on you, I would immediately start investigating you for a DUI lmfao. I say that as prior police. The scent is so out there.THE TASTEok so despite the smell being off putting to me, when I took my sip. I was quite surprised. The taste isn’t as overpowered as the smell.I am not sure if I like it. I actually stopped drinking a few years ago, but loved my whiskeys and bourbons. I think maybe this made me more sensitive to the smell? but the taste? I understand it, and I think I can appreciate it!.I definitely think this would pair GREAT with some meats over breakfast or a steak haha. I don’t think I would like to drink this as my regular morning cup of coffee though. The vibe is just so different with the bourbon notes.THE TEXTUREUnlike some other “flavored” coffees I have tried in the past, this one leaves no weird textures or films after tasting. I think it is indeed barrel aged or maybe soaked in the spirits before roasting at some point? Not sure, but yeah !WOULD I BUY MORE?While most coffees I drink (even though black) feel more like a desert to me, this coffee. I just don’t know what to make of this. I might order this at a bar. A part of me thinks I might like this with a smoke as well actually (but I also quit smoking).Like actual alcohol, I feel like this definitely is an acquired taste.I guess I am no longer the target audience for it.I am unsure what I will do with the rest of it. It feels wasteful to toss it, but what I said before holds true. It REEKS. And the taste is not desert like. I think I am going to toss the rest tbh

No brainer, for sure a must try!
First let me start off by saying the presentation and packaging is superb! You definitely get that feel of opening a new bottle of whiskey in the cardboard tube. The quality of the packaged bag for the beans and gold clip is top notch!Once you get a wiff of those beans you clearly smell the bourbon barrel essence, I also get some peanut butter, cocoa and some creaminess. Itâs amazing. This is my first time trying any sort of bourbon aged coffee beans and Iâm glad I chose wisely. On the first sip it warms your soul and the bourbon notes arenât too overbearing and is perfectly balanced. I donât usually drink my coffee black but with this it makes me want to. Definitely will keep buying more!

Always fresh Great flavor
We have been buying the whole bean version for several years and it never disappoints It has subtle flavors and no harsh bitter taste at all We grind the whole bag as we need it and itâs consistently the same quality and flavor Rhe packaging keeps it fresh with a sealed bag inside the canister

The single worst coffee experience I’ve ever endured
TL;DR Don’t buy these beans. Find something else… anything else. I don’t normally spend time to write up negative reviews but this product requires I protect others from this experience.I’m a reasonable judge of coffee after years of refining my techniques and tastes. I misjudged badly on this coffee purchase. The idea of combining two of my guilty pleasures was intriguing so I bought this product with high hopes. Unfortunately, not only did NOT live up to expectations, I couldn’t even finish the first cup and will likely just dump the beans in the trash without making another cup. When I first opened the package was the first warning sign. The beans had a very heavy citrus smell to them, which was unexpected. I might have expected a smoky, peaty, or even earthy smell but I was hit with this really strong orange smell instead. It wasn’t pleasant. The next warning came when I poured the beans into my coffee storage canister. All the beans looked like dried up husks. There was no oil whatsoever remaining on them. It looked like these beans were sitting in the sun all summer. Even the coloration was all wrong, being as pale as baked beans.Undaunted, I was still interested in trying this unique blend. I attempted to hand burr grind these new beans. Another low point — these beans kept binding up my burr grinder and then eventually shattering as I forced the normally smoothly rotating handle around in fits and starts. All other beans I’ve ever ground in the last two decades have never had this unpleasant processing experience. And then I took my first sip. I forced myself to swallow it. I’m not sure I can properly describe it. Two more sips to coat my tongue and make sure my initial take was correct and then I poured it down the drain. The only redeeming part of the product was the packaging which was very much like buying a decent bourbon. Just keep the coffee sealed in the package.
