The grinder looks nice. But there are no instructions with it. So I had to look up online to figure out how to use it. It would be very simple, to put some very simple instructions in here. I haven’t had it long enough to know how it’s going to work

Perfect salt grinder!
I had a major brand name salt grinder with a ceramic grinder (glass bottom, stainless steel top) but the plastic grind adjustment knob froze up on the corroded metal shaft and broke off when I tried to adjust it. I then used a spare pepper grinder I had, it had a high quality metal grind mechanism, and worked good but the salt started coming out tan colored because the metal grinder was slowly rusting. Realized I may be getting heavy metals with my salt! So then bought this ceramic grinder, it is very well made, the wood is made from a block of wood pieces, so you can see a variations in the wood grain, but at this price point that is not an issue. I easily adjusted it to a fine grind using coarse sea salt. Feels good in my large hands, and has a large capacity, used a funnel to fill it.Update: in order to get a powder fine grind of sea salt, I turn it upside down, and then turn the adjuster knob. It would be nice if that knob had grooves on it so you could get better feedback since it is slippery, but it does work good.as is.

Cute but not the best actual grinder
Okay, after owning this for about six months, I want to lower my rating to three stars. I’m still just as in love with the aesthetic, but in terms of function, I wish I had bought a different pepper mill. The actual grinder is not the best quality, so I get really inconsistent grinds with a lot of big chunks (like 1/3 of the peppercorn). Also, the compartment that holds the peppercorns is very narrow, so it only holds a little bit. You have to refill often, and when you get close to empty, the big chunk problem I mentioned gets worse. It’s not horrible, and I will keep this pepper mill, but for function I wish I’d gotten one that’s higher quality. For aesthetics I still love it.Initial five-star review:The one I got happens to be two different colors of wood. I know some people in the reviews were complaining about that because they wanted it to be one solid piece. Personally, I LOVE this look and think I lucked out with the two different colors. I just think it’s really cute. Of course, they’re all slightly different, so you can’t predict what yours will look like when you order. I also love the shape, which would be the same for all of them. In terms of functionality, it suits my needs. It grinds pepper easily. You can adjust coarseness of grind, but I’m fine on one setting. It’s easy to tap off excess pepper before putting it back down, so pepper collecting underneath it is not really an issue.

what a disappointment. looks like a good one, but after filling it about 3 times it no longer works. Pulled it all apart but unable to repair this waste of money. thought if i spent extra i would be finished hunting for a good one. the search continues. Do not buy. do not believe other reviews!
