We believe decaf coffee should be just as deep and full-flavored as any other gourmet coffee. This 100% Arabica whole bean coffee is decaffeinated with the carbon dioxide (CO2) method and features Italian roasted beans with a sweet, floral aroma. As an espresso, it brews up a moderate crema, balanced body, and rich, bittersweet chocolate finish. These beans also produce a great cup of traditional coffee whether prepared with a drip coffeemaker, percolator, or French press.

Great coffee, but bye bye Amason
Really great coffee, fresh and delicious. Ordering directly from Ground for Change from now on, though, as Dr. Besos probably doesn’t need any more of my money. xox

Lovely rich flavor
This is my favorite bean to use in my espresso machine. The flavor is rich, almost like a dark chocolate, with just a little bitterness, but not too much. I enjoy my coffee but need to avoid caffeine and after trying many similar beans, this is the one I decided I like best. Iâve made multiple purchases over several years and they have managed to maintain consistency and quality in every batch.

Great tasing, good price, fresh, but chemical decaffeination
I have been using this in my espresso machine for about six months now. I like a dark roast for espresso, I don’t want a lot of caffeine, but I like my morning coffee. I have my own grinder for freshness. This makes a great tasting cup of dark espresso. It is not too acidic, has a rich but not biting flavor sort of chocolaty, and is 40% or more cheaper than similar quality dark roast decaf coffee beans locally. Some are concerned about minute chemical residues from the decaffination process, and prefer and water-decaf coffee. However I figure they wash out the chemical pretty well and this has very little caffeine compared to most decaf (which can have up to 30% the normal caffeine level). Also note that some “water process” decaf coffee also uses chemicals. Only the “Swiss water” process does not use any chemicals and that is not that common. CO2 process is the safest. I would guess if a company used Swiss water or C02 process decaf that they would say so in big letters, because they do not use any toxic chemicals. This same company makes a CO2 process decaf espresso roast which is 10% less expensive, and is a darker roast than French but lighter than Italian.Coffee Bean Direct CO2 Decaf Espresso Coffee, 5-Pound Bag,Net 2265 g.

Best decaf period
Almost all of the whole-bean decaf sold are dark roasts even if they say medium or light roast. In addition, Swiss Water Method removes most of the flavor and natural oils of the bean. The CO2 decaf method is superior in maintaining the flavor and removes more caffeine. Is more expensive to produce than SWM which is soaking in water and then re-combining the oils to re-introduce the flavor. This brand is the best quality, best tasting decaf beans I can find. I spent $$$ trying all in the market online and offline. With the exception of Illi Italian decaf beans, all the rest went to to trash because they tasted like burnt cigarette ashes. These coffee beans make rich, creamy smooth tasting coffee. If you are hesitant to buy 5 lbs , they also sell 1 lbs, look around to find it.

Nice, rich flavor
I normally go for medium roasts for espresso since I drink it straight, and the dark roasts tend to have a burnt undertone that can range from unpleasant to downright nasty. This roast from Coffee Bean Direct is the exception, however. The flavor is rich with smokey tones, but no (or very little) burned flavor. Excellent crema as well. While I can’t say for sure since I don’t like milk in my coffee, I imagine the flavor would stand up very well in a milk-based drink. I did try it as an Americano, and it was quite good. The flavors were toned down a bit as you would expect, but still came through nicely.I did have to fiddle with the grind level a bit to get a decent shot. The setting I use for medium roast beans nearly choked my espresso machine – took nearly 50 seconds for a double shot and, as you can imagine, was quite horrible. I had to go two full notches coarser on my Vario grinder to get a good shot. I expect this is due to the fact that the darker roast is much more oily than the medium roasts, and needs a coarser grind.I do wish it came in a smaller package so it would be easier to store and keep fresh. But, the five pound bag comes at an excellent per-pound price.Good beans at a good price. Highly recommend.

Absolutely Excellent Decaf
I had to shop for about a year to find this decaf. It’s very low in caffeine but has great flavor and no residue of decaffeination chemicals. I blend this with regular caffeinated Colombian for my morning coffee, and drink this decaf in the afternoon.

The worst coffee I’ve ever bought
I’ve been buying CBD coffee for nearly 10 years. Some is better than others but I’ve always been satisfied. This Colombian is the worst coffee I’ve ever drank. It tastes like mud. Store bought ground coffee beats this. The CBD penny pinchers is their lowest price blend and is 10x better than the Columbian. Peet’s, Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts ground coffee beats this 100%. Since Covid their prices have increased 50% and their bean quality has decreased 50%. I can’t recommend this at all. This stuff is completely unpalatable. I’ll be throwing away a $55 dollar bag of beans. I think I’ll be looking for a new roaster to order from.

Excellent coffee beans!
Iâm not a coffee expert by any means but Iâve been making my own lattes for a couple years now. I usually order Lavazza Gran Crema which is great and very affordable. I splurged and wanted to try these since Iâve heard good things. As soon as I opened the bag I could tell I was in for a treat. They smell AMAZING and the oil content was much higher than the lavazza. Iâve tried the Six Bean and their decaf and both are totally worth it.
