49th Parallel Coffee Espresso

49th Parallel Coffee Roasters

What is the difference between different roast levels?
For our light roast, we emphasize the origin flavors, like in our Epic Espresso, offering bright, acidic, floral, and fruity notes.
Our dark roast focuses on roasting flavors, delivering a bold taste with chocolate and caramel notes, as found in our Blue Sky Espresso.
Our medium roast balances body, flavor, aroma, and acidity between origin and roast flavors, such as our Old School and Middle School Espresso.
Does coffee come ground or in whole beans?
Our coffee is always shipped in whole bean to ensure you are getting the freshest coffee.

What is the difference between espresso and filter roast?
Our espresso roasts are designed for high solubility, enhancing sweetness and body, perfect for espresso machines and moka pots.
Our filter roasts are crafted for drip or pour-over methods, optimized for the longer brewing times of 3-5 minutes, ensuring the best flavor for filter coffee.
How can I get more crema in my coffee?
Use fresh, dark-roast coffee for the best crema.
Do you sell single origin coffee?
Yes! We have a plethora of single origin espresso and filter coffee. Please check our 49th Coffee website.
Are your coffee beans 100% Arabica?
YES! All of our coffees are 100% arabica, always.
How do caffeine levels vary in different roasts?
Caffeine content is mostly determined by the coffee’s species. Because we only use arabica beans, there’s little variation.
Do you sell organic certified coffee?
Yes, we do. We are organic certified by CCOF. We have a variety of roast levels of organic coffee, such as “Organic French Roast Filter” and “Organic Espresso Capsule” (Nespresso OriginalLine Machine Compatible). You can find more 49th organic coffees on our 49th Coffee website.

Delicious
I drink my coffee black and this is a very flavourful strong blend

Excellent Coffee!
This coffee is awesome! I had this once from a friend who brought it back (to the States) from Canada and have been trying to find ways to get it since. Being on Amazon is a total game changer as there is no shipping charge! I have had the Middle School and Old School blend and Old School is my favorite. It’s med to dark roast and it has a real coffee/chocolate flavor. So happy to have access to 49th parallel thru Amazon!

Easy to acquire specialty roasted coffee but…
Fresher coffee, seems to be a difficult thing to find and lock in on Amazon but better than many others I’ve bought through their service. Flavor wise, seems to be a lighter medium roast than i expected, harder to dial in for espresso on a bambino as a result (because temp can’t be adjusted to take lighter roasts into account), but does have good flavor still for other methods. I know there are other services that can provide a similar quality if not better for less, be it Amazon or other roasters directly. If you’re paying this price because you want good coffee, you’ll probably be better off finding a closer (if not local) roaster and buying directly from them

Extreamly stale
I ordered this because I couldn’t wait for the bag my mother sent from Canada. Usually you can smell the coffee before you even open the bag and I could barely smell anything once I opened it. I thought maybe my nose was stuff and that’s why I couldn’t smell it. I was wrong it was just really stale. I brewed some in my French press and there wasn’t any oil on top like there usually was. The taste was so bland, not like the bold flavor I’m used to. When the bag my mother sent arrived I could smell it as soon as I opened her care package. I did a taste test and it confirmed, the bag I bought was extreamly stale. Save your money it’s not worth buying, it does 49th parallel no justice. FYI it was cheaper for my mother to buy a fresh bag and ship it than it was to purchase on Amazon.

Great coffee beans
I learned about 49th Parallel coffee back in Toronto and I’ve always enjoyed their beans. Lately I’ve been looking for a less bright flavor and I find the Old School espresso to be perfect for espresso and cappuccino. It’s definitely worth giving these beans a try.

Old roasts
I love this usually and itâs my go to coffee, but this bag came with a more burnt/stale bean :/Update: still hit or miss. Sometimes fresh, often stale. Itâs unfortunate

Nice and bold!
Tasty and bold, definitely recommend

Very fresh
My husband is a coffee snob, and when the pandemic hit we despaired that we couldnât go to our local distributor to buy the freshly roasted pound of coffee each week that he prefers for our espresso machine. After a bit of research we took a chance on this product and voila! Heâs happy. With Amazonâs quick delivery we donât have to go without..

The Old School Espresso is probably my favourite roast by 49th parallel. Still have yet to find another coffee brand or roast that will beat this one. As of now this one will stay at the top of my list.
Oleksii –
Unfortunately the packaging was damaged and the coffee was a little scattered. I always order 49th parallel, great coffee, probably the best coffee I’ve tried.49th Parallel, please pay attention to the delivery of your product
A & the crew –
Quality, condition, and freshness has been inconsistent for me, and packages sometimes arrive damaged/open. Might be best to order directly from 49th parallel. When I get a good bag it’s really nice but for the price I can’t take the chance anymore after too many bad experiences.
Amazon Customer –
My espresso machine usually requires two spoonfuls to deliver a good latte, but with these beans, 3 spoons finally managed to give some taste. This isn’t really espresso, it’s even milder than the one from Starbucks and definitely not as good as what we get at cafe 49th.

So I’m not new to 49th parallel I use there coffee regularly but I normally buy direct. in a pinch Amazon was gunna be faster I figured I wasn’t gunna get something fresh but I didn’t expect something almost a year old. But I guess it beats Starbucks.
