Works well enough for fine, powdery teas!
This strainer is perfect enough for me that I’m satisfied. I decided to stop steeping tea in potentially chemical-laden tea bags (I’m using filtered water, but then I’m introducing chemicals, and this just didn’t make sense to me). So, I wanted a fine mesh strainer that would prevent the smallest bits of tea from leaching out into my cup. While I have a variety of loose-leaf teas, I like Red Rose tea as my all-purpose black tea, but it’s superfine and powdery, and I don’t want to be drinking a mouthful of powder. This strainer works well enough. I snip the tea bag, dump the powdery tea into the strainer, and steep. There are some little loose powdery bits settled at the bottom of the mug, but it’s not a ton, so I’m good with it. The particles are not floating around in the tea. They stay at the bottom of the mug. I guess one could do a little tea-leave reading with them for fun. The design of the strainer is great for any mug as the handles are long (about 1 3/4 inch) on either side of the strainer. I like the little cup topper that comes with for steeping and holding the wet strainer. It’s really easy to clean with a soft cloth scrubber under running water, which gets all the fine tea particles out of the minuscule strainer holes within seconds. The strainer looks well made, and I really liked that it came in a two pack.

Hot tea for me
Great for loose leaf teas. You can add as much or as little as your preference of strength. Easy to clean, just empty in your compose bin and wash. I wipe it down and let it completely air dry. This would also work for straining small batches of tincture. The mesh is very fine to catch any small particles.

Very fine holes, strains Thai iced tea and chai masala
Impressive. I liked the wide wings on this in case I needed it for wider vessels. I didn’t know for sure how fine the holes were but they are, indeed, finer than most. Husband estimates 150 micron. I’ve steeped ChaTraMue brand Thai iced tea, which usually requires a Muslin sock as it can be very powdery. No residue at all. I’ve strained chai masala through it, no residue from spices at all. I think it even strains the sludge out of French press, I’ve done it. You need to be careful in pouring slowly, allow it to drain and may need to stir the tea inside a little to get it all absorbed or to drain into your cup if it seems to be backing up.To clean, I do NOT bang it against a trash can. I’ve seen enough reviews on others how things can come apart that way. This can handle using a teaspoon to scrape most out of it, then I use the sink sprayer to get the rest. It may take a few sprays to get the solid bottom corners, but you wouldn’t want those mesh as it would be the most vulnerable for denting. I keep them in the box or some container so they don’t get knocked around. No rough areas that I can tell.But this is much easier for me to use than cheesecloth I’d have to throw out every time or a muslin sock that I wouldn’t look forward to washing.My cups aren’t very wide, they are the Mikasa tall cappuccino mugs, so with the cap on, my water stays hot. They are a perfect fit for them.The only thing that is weird is the silicone over the caps seem to get out of place. I’ve moved them to even up, and they seem a little out of whack again later, but haven’t been terribly askew or come off. But that’s less important.If anything changes with the delicate use of these, I will update.

Tedious to clean, silicone cover on lid/driptray slips off
I bought this because it has extra fine mesh, and I’m happy with the size of the mesh as it is able to block smaller particulate in some herbal infusions (e.g. rooibos) from getting out.But the extra fine mesh and extra thin walls of the basket also seems to offer a lot more edges for the tea/infusion leaves to get snagged onto. If you let the contents of the basket long enough for it to dry, it becomes a bit more tedious to clean than other products that have larger mesh and thicker walls in their baskets. The edge on the inside at the top of the basket where the basket’s mesh meets the handles portion also contributes to make cleaning this product sometimes as it can also catches leaves as you wash it out.And the silicone cover for the lid does not fit the lid well. It feels like the thing comes off half the time you handle the lid. Or if you push it too far over the lid, that interferes with its ability to seat itself squarely in the center of the basket because the lip on the lid is not very tall. Maybe the silicone cover should be redesigned and the lip on the lid made taller.

Der Deckel hilft, den Tee während des Ziehens warm zu halten, was ich sehr praktisch finde. Der Tee hat immer einen vollen Geschmack, da die Teeblätter genügend Platz haben, sich auszubreiten.+ Reinigung:Die Reinigung des Siebs ist denkbar einfach. Dank der glatten Oberfläche bleiben keine Rückstände haften, und es lässt sich mühelos unter fließendem Wasser ausspülen oder in die Spülmaschine geben.+ Fazit:Dieses Teesieb ist ein hervorragendes Produkt für Teeliebhaber. Es vereint Funktionalität mit ansprechendem Design und ist dabei noch leicht zu reinigen. Der Tee wird perfekt aufgebrüht, und das Sieb ist vielseitig genug, um sowohl in Tassen als auch in kleineren Teekannen verwendet zu werden.

Le couvercle qui sert aussi à poser l’infuseur sorti de la tasse n’est pas qu’un simple gadget mais un vrai bonus au quotidien, surtout avec sa bande en silicone qui l’empêche de glisser sur la table (les buveurs de thé savent à quel point un sachet peut être encombrant quand il n’y a pas de poubelle a proximité. La fonction “couvercle” permet une meilleure infusion du thé. Il s’adapte à toutes les tasses grâce aux larges poignées. Enfin l’inox a l’air de bonne qualité et j’espère les garder longtemps.
