good but not for everyone
Eh I regret this purchase. I somehow did not see the gaudy branding right on the front of this, etched in. I am not a fan and I cannot turn this around. Also the channel at the top I found pretty useless and a waste of space. The sizing is fine but you are better off having a bottomless portafilter this time around. It is solid wood, sleek in design, but just doesnât fit my needs properly.

It’s ok
I like that it’s compact and flat. I didn’t want something big and bulky like some of the other tamping station. I wanted something that was sleek and smaller that would take up less space. It fits a variety of sizes for your tamper from 51 mm to 58mm. It’s pretty lightweight. I would have preferred if it was a bit heavier, but it has some grips on the bottom to prevent it from slipping while you’re tamping. I do appreciate the silicone discs on the bottom to help keep the mat clean and it’s easy to remove. The biggest gripe is that the edges are raised for the tamping portion of the mat. I feel like I hit the edges a lot. I would have rather it be flushed to the bottom instead in order to have better movement.

This wood holder is a great addition to my home espresso bar. I use it as a tamping station and storage. It has black rubber pieces that comes out easily for cleaning.

Nice minimal organizer
I had a larger espresso caddy that was rather bulky and when I saw this organizer I was immediately ready to order it. Once I received it I was pretty impressed. The entire unit is made of solid wood, has two slots for screen filters, a holder for a brush and three compartments for your portafilter, leveler, and tamper. The silicone inserts could be thicker especially for the portafilter to sit higher when tamping but that is not a big deal. If you are looking for a more minimal way of decluttering your espresso station then look no further, this is a great addition to my setup.

Helps with the work flow
I’ve always heard that organization can set you free, and in my case, having a place for all the moving parts (at an easy reach) really did. I opted for this low profile version because of my limited counter space and I’m glad I did.
