Affordable without compromising on taste
This Super Crema is a true medium espresso roast with its smoothness while still having a balanced body profile that paired well with my brown sugar oat milk creamer. I don’t find it bitter, and has nice tasting notes of sweet caramel and hazelnut. True to the name, it produced a nice crema finish brewed from my espresso machine that gave me that full-bodied, luxurious taste with each sip that was only enhanced when added to my frothed-up oat milk.My espresso machine grinds the whole beans on an as-needed basis, so the freshly grinded beans produced a pleasant fragrant aroma. The beans are a combination of arabica and robusta, and I definitely got a nice boost from the caffeine bump from the 40% robusta. While I’m normally a dark roast drinker, the 22-ounce bag is a good size when I want to switch it up and am able to go through this bag in under a month or so. And while I would consider myself a coffee aficionado, I appreciate a quality brand like Lavazza that still delivers a shot of espresso at an affordable price without compromising on taste and provides consistent quality to their whole coffee beans.

Generous size and scent
This review is for Lavazza Super Crema Whole Bean Coffee, Medium Espresso Roast. This is a medium-large bag of whole coffee beans that do need to be ground, but I like that because it means the coffee is fresh when I make it. I’m not great at picking up on scent or taste notes (coffee, caramel, chocolate, dandelions, whatever) but this has a good rich strong smell that matches the flavor.

Decent coffee from established brand, but still a little pricy
This is decent coffee from a known and established good brand, but the cost is still hard to justify vs something you could get from a local store for cheaper. Some of the larger capacity bulk options are more economical and seem of similar quality as well.
