    Amazing!
I’ve waited over a long time to write this review. I purchased this as a birthday gift for processing bear and deer for my boyfriend. We have had this for going on two years this January 2025. It works like we just bought it everytime we use it! Super fast, great HP, heavy duty, sleek design and super easy to put together. It is heavy! But absolutely amazing grinder.

    Great grinder for the money
Great grinder. It works perfectly. We process a couple thousand pounds of meat per year and this grinder hasn’t missed a beat. Plenty of power to get through the meat.

    Love it – so far!
Ok, so I’m still in the honeymoon phase of using the grinder. I’ve used it all of twice, once on a small batch and once on a larger batch. I haven’t given it a good test with bone-in chicken, but will try to remember to report back after that. Thus far, though, this thing is AMAZING! It’s quieter than my last grinder (but keep in mind, it’s grinder so it won’t be silent). It’s definitely quieter than a blender. I don’t find the noise to be jarring or hurt my ears. It’s also fast! I had a Tasin 08 before (which broke) so my comparisons are all based on that.I don’t find that the Weston overheats nor does the meat get stuck or back up. I do wish it had a reverse button as I don’t see one anywhere on the machine. It’s a nice feature to have just in case. Thus far, though, I have no need for it. It took in large chunks of boneless chicken and ground them up very easily. It also took in the pre-ground (very coarse ground) whole chicken which was a mix of chicken, bones, organs easily. I needed a finer grind for my cats due to one having few teeth.Clean up is relatively simple. It’s like my Tasin – take it apart, wash by hand, dry off, put it back together. It’s easy to take apart and put back together which is great. It is fairly heavy, in my opinion, but that’s not a big deal to me. I’m not sure what else I can say other than I absolutely love this grinder! When more time has passed, I’ll try to remember to come back and give some updates.

    Works great
This is a quality grinder as it should be for the money. We have used it to make our dog’s raw food diet. We use the coarse grinder then the fine grind on chicken (bones and all). A whole chicken leg will go down the feed tube and is easily ground. This is a fairly large piece of equipment and is heavy. We keep it on a rolling table so we don’t have to lift it to move. It is made out of high quality materials and the pieces can be removed for easy cleaning.

    Heavy duty and fast.
This grinder has made my life so much easier. I suggest to place this machine on a utility cart so you can roll it away when it’s not being used. It’s very heavy so I keep it on the cart even when I’m using it.

(All is now good. Update on 8/15/22) Customer service is HORRIBLE
After I posted my terrible review, CS got in touch with me. Maybe they would have anyway and the timing was coincidental. Anyway, after a couple emails and documentation, they sent me a brand new unit. Now I can speak to the effectiveness of this machine. I use it to grind my own dog food, about 50 pounds every other week (3 hungry dogs) and it does a phenomenal job. I grind chicken (bones included), beef, organs, fruit and vegetables, and it works great. The dogs get better food than what is commercially available, at least in my price range, and I can control everything about it.I have had this for less than two months, and mid-use it stopped working. I have only used it 4 times. Initially, it was working great, but now it will not start, and worse yet, I can’t get in touch with anyone in customer support. Call the number and you will just get a recording saying to fill out a report online. Well, I did that, and so far, no response. Considering this is almost a $1,000 unit, not only should it work, but when it doesn’t, someone should answer the phone and help me figure this out. Ugh, I am angry about this.By the way, yes I did make sure all the outlets have power and tried pushing the circuit reset button. That’s all the manual suggests.

    Grinder’s augur runs backwards
Waited years to find this meat grinder on sale, I make raw food for my dog and needed one that can handle bones. Was very happy to get this over the holidays for 20% off, about $800, and purchased the LEM foot pedal to have better control over it. Both came very highly rated, and this grinder seems to be a powerhouse, very weighty so I don’t need to worry about things shifting off my countertop.Just used it the other day with great difficulty– the grinder is wired wrong and runs BACKWARDS, making it useless. The augur pulls the meat back towards the machine, turning it into a messy paste. I disassembled and reassembled it multiple times, triple-checking everything–it simply runs in reverse when you turn it on. In order to intentionally reverse the augur, you have to physically HOLD the lever in the back past the off setting, so there’s no way to accidentally run it in reverse–it’s just wired wrong. When I hold it in the reverse setting, the machine grinds normally, and does a great job, but the reverse function has to be held and only reverses for a few seconds. As it stands, my $1000 grinder is nearly unusable.Considering this is a $1k piece of machinery, this is disappointing and unacceptable. I’m posting this review in the hopes of being able to edit it later, after it has been repaired or replaced. In order to get in touch with Weston’s customer service, you have to email them–no phone number is available, so I’m posting this first so they can see the video. All around it’s been a deeply frustrating experience that should never have happened.
