What problem are we solving?

Not all matcha is equal. It is tough to separate good matcha from the overpriced and mediocre. We work hard to offer the best quality product at each price point.

Why do we love what we do?

For something so simple, matcha can have a huge range of flavors ranging from sweet, nutty to savory and complex. Depending on the available tea leaves and growing techniques, there are so many possibilities!

How did we get our start?

We started with just 1 type of matcha. We now work direct with a network of tea growers and manufacturers in Japan, offering 7 kinds of matcha.

✓ Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha from Japan – Our Organic First Spring Blend Matcha is what we recommend to beginners looking for a decent, all rounded organic ceremonial grade matcha that provides good value for the price.
✓ Mild, Mellow Taste Without Any Bitterness – A smooth yet mellow taste with notes of raw cacao makes this an excellent blend of matcha for matcha lattes, matcha teas or usucha. It has virtually no unpleasant bitterness or astringency.
✓ Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha – Certified organic by JAS (recognised by USDA). Made from the First Harvest tea leaves from the hilly Kirishima region just outside of Kagoshima city. The tea plants are shade grown, processed into tencha at modern facilities and only ground into matcha powder right before it leaves Japan for the USA.
✓ Improve Your Focus, Boost Energy Without Coffee – Greatly increase your focus and energy by drinking Naoki Matcha. Unlike the typical caffeine rush from coffee, the amino acid L-theanine in Naoki Matcha slowly releases the caffeine which helps to relax the mind and body while providing a steady boost of energy for up to 6 hours.
✓ Proudly Made In Kagoshima – Uji and Kyoto may be the spiritual homes of matcha, but Kagoshima is rapidly growing as a producer of quality matcha. The volcanic soil in Kagoshima has a unique terroir and the tea estates’ there are willing to depart from tradition to create bold new tastes and flavors.

Customers say

Customers enjoy the tea’s flavor, quality, and color. They find it has a nice vibrant green color with floral notes. Many consider it a premium product with quality ingredients. Some are satisfied with the texture and blend. However, opinions differ on value for money and bitterness.

    Best Quality:Price ratio for Latte
Superior Blend reviewed— Strikes the perfect balance between color and depth of flavor and price for latte making. Is it the most sophisticated, the most vibrant emerald green? No. But for lattes it it has that bright green pop and the flavor is balanced, plays nice with my EdenSoy original (soybeans and water only, full fat, no sweeteners, no emulsifiers, no vitamin powder) with some sweet, some muted bitter, earthy in balance.

    Vibrant, nutty, and delicious
The perfect matcha for me. Not extremely expensive, yet perfectly nutty and vibrant, without the bitter astringent notes of cheaper matcha. I’ve tried so many brands-this is the best one that doesn’t come from a can. (The canned ceremonial matcha is a whole other ballgame, though! Haha :))

    Would recommend
Nishio Bloom is a well balanced matcha with nice floral notes and little to no astringency. It’s not very strong, but it is well rounded. The bitterness is pleasant and doesn’t linger. I’d say it has a medium umami flavor. For a matcha on Amazon, I’m very pleased. The quality is on par with the price. I’d recommend this particular blend if you are willing to pay. If you like matcha lattes, this is a treat when cold whisked!

    Good emergency matcha!
I was out of matcha and since I’m going to Japan soon, I decided to buy Naoki to try out and to cope with my matcha crave for the time being.A solid matcha powder, beautiful green color. It has a slight bitter taste in milk, and mild taste and little creamy. Depending on the milk you’re using, the matcha flavor doesn’t really stand out, and if you’re using flavored syrups, you probably won’t taste much matcha anymore. I used Chobani Oatmilk and the flavor stood out more than when I was using Califa Barista. I only use around 10 mil of simple syrup in my matcha since I do like to taste the tea bitterness. As thin tea (Usucha), the bitterness stands out but it’s still really cream. Less astringent, and your tongue won’t be dry after drinking.

    Great matcha
This is some of the best tasting matcha I’ve gotten. It is not grassy at all. I keep it in the bag it comes in inside the tin. It does still clump up at the bottom but that might be because I’m not an expert at stirring/whisking it.

    Amazing Quality
Naoki matcha has excellent quality, evident from its vibrant green color. The taste is rich yet not bitter at all, making a very creamy and delicious matcha latte.

    Creamy
This was delicious; will order again. It smelled rich and vegan even dry. The taste was smooth and creamy, loved it! Will not be able to go back to the lesser quality matcha I was using. The color of this was a very bright green. I’m thrilled and in love!

  9. one of the many

I like matcha and whisk a bowl in my antique chawan every morning. Sadly, however, while I have tried many matchas, I lack the linguistic expertise to adequately sing the praises of this very good matcha. :-(I can only say: come and see.
