Work REALLY well!
I bought these because I had a mesh holder that leaked tea leaves out of it and I wanted to be able to drink just a few herbal teas that I could only find loose (and not in tea bags). These tea infusers work perfectly, they come with a little fitted saucer – I’m finally drinking that loose tea and not grumbling about little bits of leaf and twig in my tea!! Highly recommend.

Useful and cute
I have recently switched back to paper filled coffee pods from instant.Pods do not have strings and tags like tea bags so this little mesh pot with lid and hook lets me steep the pod as long as I want then remove it without having to poke around in the cup with a spoon and drag it up the side of the cup.I’m always afraid I’m going to break the bag and have grounds everywhere, but that’s not a worry anymore.I use an oversize cup for tea so need two bags. I used to tie the strings together then loop one bag through the cup handle. If I didn’t squeeze the excess from the bags I’d have a drippy mess.Squeezing the bag gives the tea a bitter taste so now I put both bags in the strainer, and just have the saucer part ready to catch the pot when I take them out.Plus, the pots are just cute to have on the table with the coffee and tea things. To clean them I just hold it by the top rim and put it under hot running water. If there are any grounds or leaves inside, I turn the pot over and let the water flow through the mesh from the outside and rinse the inside.I use them daily so consider it money well spent.

suboptyimal tea infuser
The infuser design is suboptimal. Yes, it does allow the hot water to steep the loose leaf tea. However the fine mess is too fine, The small holes enable the surface tension of water to form a barrier to useful convection. Even shaking the infuser when out of the water does not allow easy drainage of tea from infuser. When filling a cup with the loose leaf tea infuser the air does not escape casing the infuser to float rather than remain submerged allowing for the tea to steep. The flat bottom of the infuser resting against the equally flat bottom a a mug combined with the too-small infuser holes does not allow a convective current to form for optimal tea steeping. Possible improvement would be adding spikes (stilts) to the infuser bottom.
