Product Description

Heritage design meets modern accoutrements with the Rocket Espresso Giotto Timer Type V. A classic E61 design in a stainless steel case belies the technology packed inside, offering the best of both classic design notions and usability. Features like a built-in shot timer, hidden PID controller, and group flow restrictors elevate the Giotto Timer’s functionality beyond standard espresso machines—all without sacrificing the machine’s style. Simultaneous brewing and steaming, efficient heat management, and high-powered steaming combine to make a machine as easy to use as it is to look at.

Built by Hand
The Giotto Timer Type V is designed and built by hand in Milan, Italy. The Giotto’s sloping side panels add a dash of Italian flair to the machine’s looks.

Shot Timer
A mini shot timer adds extra functionality without affecting the classic face of the machine.

PID Controller
Placed behind the drip tray, this PID controller replaces the pressurestat of other machine and offers more stable temperatures in the steam boiler.

Heat-exchange Boiler
A 1.8-liter steam boiler with a cold water tube running through it pulls water fresh from the reservoir.

Easy Brewing
Temperature control is optimised through a PID controller drawing on 4 different signal parameters to ensure stability and optimum results in the cup.
An adjustable temperature display allows the user to select individual brewing temperatures for different coffee types and roast styles.
The Giotto Timer Type V machine introduces users to the Rocket Espresso movement for better espresso in the home without compromise.

Problem with a leak
I was very excited about this and at first really liked it. After about a week I noticed that it was slowly leaking water out of the front, right under its label and on to the PID gauge. It was also not gaining any pressure in the boiler any longer. So I had to return it. Iâm going to give another one a try and see how it goes.

The Ferrari of Espresso Machines, works great until it needs repair (about every 1.5 years) $$$$
Like: When it’s running well, it makes amazing espresso and excellent foamy milk. It’s a BEAUTIFUL machine. We make excellent lattes, espressos, and americano’s when it’s working.Unfortunately, when it’s not working, it’s a frustrating experience trying to get it repaired. They have to order parts from Italy, you can be without your machine for weeks and weeks, then when you get it back, it may or may not work well. We get it repaired through Seattle Coffee Gear. They used to be awesome for repairs; not so much now. We have owned our machine for 9 years. It currently has an intermittent failure to not turn on. SCG said it worked great for them. So now we play, “Home or Starbucks?” every morning. Will it turn on? Will it not? Who knows? Haven’t found a machine that works as well when this one works.Good luck to you if you choose this machine.

This is a Serious machine, you need to be Committed to the Art of Coffee.
We had A Breville 870 and it was easy and an amazing bang for the buck. This is a serious step up in Quality and Complexity. You have to Love the Art of Quality Espresso and the time it takes to get the best Coffee possible at Home. For us , it is totally worth it and is a High Build Quality Appliance that will hold it’s value . It also looks that part of a great Appliance The Quality of the Coffee is top tier and the grinder they make is required due to the powdery fine grind required to get the best performance and flavor. We tried other grinders without good results at all.If you pay this much for the Machine, get the grinder too. It Will save you a month of screwing around and getting frustrated with a lot of bad coffee and not working right. The grind required is powdery. All there products are great.
