The Gaggia Velasca Prestige is a super-automatic espresso machine with customizable drink options, one-touch milk beverages, and stylish stainless steel paneling that blends modern and retro Italian design. ONE TOUCH BREWING AND FROTHING: Bean-to-cup brewing with one-touch milk frothing for cappuccinos, baby cappuccinos, and milk froth . LOW PROFILE: The Velasca Prestige is right at home under cabinets with its front loading water reservoir. At under 14 inches tall, minimal clearance is needed to fit it under your cupboards. PROGRAMMABLE: The Gaggia Velasca Prestige drink buttons can be programmed with your preferred beverage volume, milk volume, strength, pre-infusion, and temperature. You are also able to choose between using whole bean or pre-ground coffee. CAPACITY: The Velasca Prestige has a 54oz removable water reservoir and a 10.5oz bean hopper. The internal dreg bin can hold up to 10 spent pucks of coffee. EASY MAINTENANCE: The machine features a removable brew unit as well as an automatic rinse, carafe cleaning, and descale cycle. LOW-ENERGY STANDBY MODE: After one hour of idle time, the Velasca Prestige will enter a low energy (-1 W) standby mode to reduce power consumption.
Note: 1)Too coarse a grind, too little coffee, or insufficiently tamping the grounds before brewing can all lead to inadequate pressure for a proper brew. 2)It is important to note that the amount of espresso extracted will vary depending on the grind size and amount and reprogramming may be needed when the size and amount are adjusted

Best coffee machine in the world – five stars
This is the best coffee machine I’ve ever had. I’ll never need another one. It’s amazing and worth every cent. It makes espresso, cappuccino, hot water. froths milk and does it all. Maintenance is simple. This is the greatest machine ever.

    Gaggia is still the best!
Our old Gaggia super-automatic sprung a leak and bit the dust this year, after 15 years of reliable service. While we shopped around other brands for a replacement, we gravitated back to Gaggia on the basis of three things: 1) Gaggia was the first to market a large, commercial espresso machine, many years ago, 2) the machine’s reliability, based on our prior experience, is hard to beat, and 3) the coffee tastes amazingly good, just as we remembered. Also, the Gaggia is still built in Italy. The Velasca Prestige is a bit smaller than our first Gaggia, with an attractive brushed stainless steel front panel and chromed drip tray cover. The water reservoir and used “puck” container are both located conveniently at the front where they are easily removed to refill or empty. A large bean reservoir sits atop the unit. It holds about half a can of Illy beans, so doesn’t need frequent refilling. There are plenty of user-adjustable options (READ THE MANUAL or you won’t get the most out of the machine) for preparing coffee drinks, plus a front-loaded milk frother container that can sit in the fridge in between coffee-making sessions. The coffee, in whatever style you may like is uniformly delicious. My only issues with the machine are that the water reservoir is small and requires frequent refilling and ditto for the puck container. I imagine Gaggia was trying to keep the machine within reasonable dimensions to fit conveniently on a countertop, which it does nicely.Speaking from almost 20 years of experience using Gaggia super-automatics, read the manual, buy the cleaning products, and maintain the machine regularly. There is a learning curve, both for preparing drinks and for cleaning the machine, but you get to drink some great coffee during the process. Enjoy!

2.5 years later, works as well as the Day I bought it
Purchased my machine in May 2022. It has worked flawlessly, I especially love the design of the milk frother, easy in/out, fridge to machine and back. I do use the Gaggia scaling solution on time every time and I use the quick clean function on the frother. I would highly recommend. I think it is a quality machine with a powerful pump. I make 1-3 cups per day about 5 days a week on average. Great machine.

Does not work and wastes beans
After loving our Titanium Gaggia for over 6 years, we were very excited to upgrade to a super automatic. After lots of research, we purchased the Anima Prestige, but returned it after about a month. While the frother was great, we were constantly getting no bean errors, which led to lots of ruined drinks, frustration and tons of wasted beans. The machine would grind the bean serving, then dump them into the dredge drawer and rinse itself into your fresh cup. We decided to return the Anima and switch to the Velasca Prestige, since family had recently purchased and had success.Immediately, we started getting no bean errors on the Valasca. We had several calls with custom support and went through the tedious and wasteful task of “training our Velasca’s algorithm”. ( One would assume for $900, the machine would come preprogrammed to make a cup of coffee) We had a bit of success for a while, but if you change the aroma strength, you are back at square one. It is not atypical to get 4-6 no bean errors while trying to make 1 espresso drink. We have had to double our Lavazza subscription, because of the coffee we waste. When we received both new machines, we noticed that they didn’t seem as solid as out titanium, but were happy to look past that since they promised new exciting features. Now after 2 failed machines, I can’t help but assume the quality of this brand is not what it once was. I’m hopeful that I will be able to return this as we are currently using our $30 french press, while the $900 machine gathers dust and takes up room on the counter.

    Perfect cappucino ! But…
Did my research. Am a very picky coffee drinker. I’ve had many espresso machines and 1 Philips/Saeco automatic that only lasted less than 2 years. This appeared to be convenient and easy to clean, plus Italian Gaggia is a brand well known for best quality coffee. Not worth it for me to save $200 and get a Chinese brand name. And it looks great !It is super easy to operate and clean. So easy to use milk container. I fill milk to max and use for a few days, run clean circle and put back in fridge right away. I keep a cup under dispenser to catch water. I’ve used medium and dark roast, and get perfect crema and milk froth. Its very easy to operate, selecting coffee strength and type. So far so good. I love it !Update after almost 2 years. The milk dispenser stopped working. No matter how much I clean it. Since there is a 2 year warranty, I asked for a new one. Lets see what happens…

Delicious Coffee with a learning Curve
This machine, by far, produces the best coffee I’ve ever made at home and is better than most coffee you’ll have out. There’s a bit of a learning curve that comes with the machine and the user manual isn’t clear with some of the instructions. I recommend watching some videos online to familiarize yourself with how it works and what the parts are. Be prepared to deep clean and lube the machine monthly. Again, the maintenance is worth it if you’re looking to step up your coffee game. Make sure you use light to medium roast whole bean coffee. DO NOT USE DARK ROAST BEANS. This isn’t about flavor. Dark Roast beans are more moist and can gum up the inner workings of the machine.

Its a great coffee maker. Very simple to operate and maintain as well as functional in terms of choices: Cappuccino, Expresso, Regular coffee, Milk froth only, hot water. The milk container is a joy to maintain and use. Take it out of the fridge, plug it in and put it back in the fridge after a quick wash. It is very low profile unlike all the coffee makers out there. The only one I could find with a milk container! The water container is big and will last you 2-3 days for 2 coffees a day. It’s also well built and should last a long time with proper care.

Make sure you configure the machine (via menu) whether the in-water tank filter is fitted or not – makes a big difference to coffee brewed!Other than that, it works brilliantly. “Super-automatic” is exactly that. A close relative is a coffee aficionado and was doubtful about such an automated approach to making espresso. He was suitably impressed. The only real negative is that you can’t do espresso art. That is no loss to me – I just want the coffee, not a temporary art form ;)By-pass chute allows single charges of different coffee (pre-ground) e.g. decaf – is especially useful.Easy to use, clean and maintain. Don’t forget to buy various cleaning products (coffee cleaning tablets as well as decalc’ing etc).

Had out machine 7 months and have multiple issues. Says no beans in the unit and you have to run 4 or 5 times to get a cup of coffee while it is grinding beans and wasting lots of coffee. Produces lots of steam but almost no milk froth. Expensive machine that does not work. Avoid this product. Almost impossible to find repair locations and still trying to resolve warranty

It took a bit of setting up, but makes a lovely cup of coffee once programmed. The water tank isn’t huge and if it runs out of water it doesn’t remember where it was in the cycle. It is rather noisy. I might get a mat to put underneath it.I would recommend it.

I bought this machine to replace an earlier Delonghi machine, which was about 6 years old and had started to leak badly underneath, despite the machine still working otherwise.I’ve only had the machine for less than a week, and am happy so far. It was easy to set up, and the coffee that it makes definitely passes the test, and is hotter than the coffee that I made using my earlier Delonghi machine. Since I prefer hotter coffee, this is a big plus for me.I haven’t tried making cappuccinos yet, but I look forward to trying that function in the next little while. With the included milk carafe and the cappuccino function built into the machine, it looks to be quite straightforward.
