Matcha Quality High Quality vs Low QualityMatcha Quality High Quality vs Low Quality

High Quality VS. Low Quality Matcha

Taste:

The amino acids that give Matcha its sweet smell should actually make the tea taste slightly sweet, too.

Touch/Feel:

A high quality Matcha should feel very fine and silky similar to the feel of eye shadow or baby powder.

Lower quality matcha will have larger particle sizes that feel coarse between the fingers.

High Quality VS. Low Quality Matcha

Color

Good quality Matcha is vibrantly green in color—often described as jade green—and lower qualities tend to have a more yellowish/brownish hue.

Price

Matcha is an expensive tea. Tons of labor goes into the cultivation, harvest, and manufacturing of Matcha

Smell:

A high quality Matcha should smell sweet and vegetal, thanks to the L-theanine amino acid that is preserved in the shade.

Delicious, refreshing, and convenient! Hot or cold
Love this product. Sometimes I pour a packet into a water bottle and just shake it up with a little sweetener. I find that diluting it a bit increases the palatability. Sometimes I make myself a hot latte with a little milk and sweetener. Sometimes I add it to a homemade smoothie. Delicious! Though the flavor can be a little overpowering. I’m glad I only drink it a few times a week though because it’s rather expensive. I love the convenience of the packaging; it makes drinking this health food a more likely event than it would be otherwise.

Sugar-free Sweetened Matcha To Go Sticks
I love Matcha, especially with Almond Milk. Hot of course. I am not crazy about this Sugar-Free product though. It is too sweet for me. I do however love the regular Matcha. I will continue to drink the Matcha though. Next time I will buy the regular Matcha. Thank you for this product.

Tastes as good as the famous Seattle coffee shop delivers
It’s a bit pricey but for ceremonial blend I expect that. Because it’s too costly to have every day we only use it for special events like birthday parties, family gatherings etc. It’s something we look forward to because it has a nice fresh clean taste, not too sweet. Everyone serves coffee at events but we prefer Matcha so we bring our own after dinner drink and the individual packets make it travel friendly.

    My favorite matcha
Taste is a subjective thing, but after trying three other brands, I think this Ayia’s is the best tasting matcha that is also easy to make (don’t need to measure/sift etc). The only thing I’ve found that I like more is (also) Aiya’s ceremonial grade matcha, but sometimes I just don’t have the time to mix that up the proper way. :-)I would give 4.5 stars if I could, but at the price I can’t _quite_ give it 5 stars. But I keep on buying it! 😀

    Matcha is a Life-Changer
This is the best beverage on the planet. If you love green tea and strong flavors, I highly recommend this product. The “to go” packets are great for on-the-go – just pour it in a water bottle and you’re ready to feel alert, focused, and energized without the horrible feeling of dehydration and the dreaded caffeine crash you’d typically experience with coffee. I buy this on a regular basis and use it as a substitute for coffee – I feel great and never need to drink more than one or two (and I’ve been a huge caffeine addict the majority of my life). This isn’t some weird energy drink – it’s just a healthy alternative to them. It’s doing your body good, guys. In the morning, I usually drink a protein shake (some brand from Whole Foods…it’s not one of those “GET READY TO GET PUMPED” protein shakes – not like that’s even relevant information) and I add a packet of this in and it’s an all-in-one great start to the day.I swear by matcha. It’s a magical substance. It tastes great (it tastes like strong green tea without the bitterness, but if you’re into sugar, it’s really great for smoothies or add some honey). I highly recommend this to anyone who is in search of a routine change or break away from other caffeinated beverages.Get ready to get focused with the world’s most magical healthy beverage – Matcha.Oh, on a side note, I’ve tried other brands, and this tasted the freshest. Once you go with Aiya, it’s hard to accept the other brands… it’s high quality stuff.

    Lead Warning
Ok, so I had bought these thinking it was a great solution and it is, in theory. I opened the first packet and it mixed ok, but not exactly soluble totally. It tasted a little bitter to me, but sometimes matcha can be a little stronger, especially ceremonial grade. My concern came in when I noticed the lead warning statement on the box.If you drink match regularly, then you may be aware that it can potentially carry lead from the soil it’s grown in. Many higher-quality brands have chemical testing results on their websites. If a product doesn’t meet the high standards of CA’s recent regulations, then they are required to put a lead warning on the packaging…and here this one stood glaring at me. Unfortunately, I decided against these and bought another brand that discloses testing results and is lead-free.

  10. Amazon Customer

I am planing trip to Europe, needed instant matcha to keep me up and energetic; bought single box of Aiya to try before buying enough for the whole trip for my family. Was impressed by absence of high bitterness and some unpleasant substates associated with culinary grade matcha (one finds a lot of it in Elan matcha that is very inexpensive), beautiful after taste and aroma and deep green colour. I have emptied one pack into a milk frother (Secura, bought here on Amazon; short cut for quickly made matcha) and the taste was great and the foam was exceptional. I am never buying culinary grade matcha again, there is simply no fun in drinking it, unless you put tons of milk and sugar so you do not feel the matcha taste anymore.Highly recommend and I am ordering more of the Matcha to Go now.

I have tried a few different brands and this one didn’t stand out to me. It’s good for a quick drink option but the taste isn’t very high quality or smooth
