A rotating blend of coffee beans from small-holder farmers in the Pacific Rim Islands and in Latin America. The beans are roasted to a deep, chocolaty brown for a heavy-bodied cup with rich notes of chocolate and caramel. This coffee is deep brown and has a lively acidity.

    Amazing organic coffee
Wow, this coffee really blew me away. Not to mention anyone I have served it to. I don’t usually buy ground coffee, but this one has made convert out of me. I use it in my percolator, so having a pre-ground coffee with a consistent grind makes the process a lot easier in the morning, since my coffee grinder isn’t the greatest. This coffee is for you if you like a full city roast. It’s labeled “Vienna Roast” which is similar, basically it’s a touch lighter than a dark roast. It’s a very rich coffee and you really don’t need much. Ignore the package instructions and resist the urge to use more coffee than you need. One level tablespoon per 6 ounces of water is just right. I haven’t tried it as a drip coffee, but in the percolator, it makes a smooth and strong brew that isn’t acidic at all . I suspect that the bad reviews here are from people who followed the package directions and used too much coffee, or perhaps they’re using different brewing methods. I find that perking it for at least 10 minutes brings out the full flavor. Also, ignore the reviews that say this coffee is too expensive. It is usually much less expensive buying it here than at Whole Foods Market. But like everything else here on Amazon, the price fluctuates wildly. I have seen the price literally go from $5.55 to $20.99 – on the same day. I have a feeling that they lower the price super low to get rid of excess inventory and then raise it once they reduce their stock levels. In any case, just know that the price increases are temporary, no need to panic. I make sure to stock up whenever the price is low so I don’t have to pay full price. It usually has a 3-4 month shelf life, so I keep 3 to 4 bags around at all times, or whatever I can use up in that time period. $5.55 for a pound of decent coffee is unheard of these days, and the Pacific Rim is a 1.5lb bag, it’s truly an amazing value, but please keep it in perspective with the price – I wouldn’t expect a $10 bottle of wine to taste like a $50 bottle. Personally, I don’t ever want to be without this coffee and I’m saving so much money not buying artisanal coffee beans like I used to. 5+ stars isn’t enough.

    YUMMY!
I once read one of the worse items you can consume that is non-organic is coffee. Hmmmmm…never really thought of it. Did a little research and agreed it did make sense. This organic coffee is very good. Tastes good if you don’t like strong coffee and the price is definitely right. A win / win!!

Used two ways, percolator brought out full flavor, Keurig was a lighter brew
Used these in the Keurig and the grind was weaker even though it says strong flavor. I looked on the bag and it said to use 2 tbsp for each 6 oz cup when normal rule of thumb is 1 tbsp per 5oz cup. Suffice it to say I tried it in the percolator with 2.5 tbsp to 12 oz and held my breath. It came out really good. The percolator makes the flavor stronger. So it is strong if you brew it in a percolator or the right device. I was worried it was the wrong grind but it was perfect. That said buying coffee can get rather complicated depending on the grind, roast, blend and of course the type of machine you have to cook it in, if you cook it and are not doing a cold press.

    Good taste
Love this coffee but it is never in stock. I don’t know if they even make it anymore.

    Looking for a Smooth Coffee
I have been trying different brands of coffee looking for one I can drink black. This one is good. It’s smooth, non-too-acidic, rich, and a little woody. I’m not as much a fan of the modern wood-roasted style, but this one is not as strong as some others. It’s organic, free-trade, and very affordable. It also tastes great with cream and sugar, but I’m trying not to drink too much of that these days.

Just didn’t like the flavor; Weak and lackluster.
Really wanted to love this coffee as finding organic online at a good price point is a bit challenging. Alas, this is not it. Had trouble getting flavor–when I made like I usually do, it tasted like I’d used 1/2 the amount of my former coffee. I had to increase to 1.5x my normal amount. That looked more like my usual coffee, but still lacking in any type of complex flavor. I couldn’t detect any chocolate or caramel flavor and it certainly doesn’t taste like a medium-dark roast to me. Just my opinion.

    This coffee smells sooo good…
I didn’t have high hopes for this coffee, but I am very pleased. It has a smooth taste and doesn’t give you the shakes or heart palpitations. I am pleased with the price, flavor and overall product. Keep making great products like these!

    Great flavor
I loved this coffee. Still using it. Great flavor. As a Caribbean Latin woman, this is pretty good/strong. Doesn’t taste watery/weak when you drink it. You can adjust the amount of coffee too your liking and make it as strong as you want. It doesn’t make me miss the other Latin coffee brands I grew up with that are not organic, this one reminds me of what I grew up with without the hidden nasties since it’s organic.
