Great upgrade for a pepper grinder
I’d never heard of an electric pepper grinder before now so I guess I’ve been living under a rock!I am very impressed with this product. No more boring, repetitive motion to grind my pepper!Now, I happen to be someone who likes a LOT of pepper, and it must be freshly ground. (This peppermill is a must-have for waiters! A funny story comes to mind: When my parents took me to a finer-than-usual restaurant in my teens, I kept the poor server standing there for 5 full minutes grinding pepper onto my Caesar salad. My father finally had said to say “when”!)I especially like the fact that the chamber where the peppercorns go is so nicely sealed that no oxygen can get in. I’ve learned that it’s best to keep peppercorns sealed and wait to grind them until you’re ready to plate the meal.You can easily view the chamber through the window to see when it’s time to refill. Get some multicolored peppercorns — they are beautiful through the large window display.I’ll put white peppercorns in one grinder and multicolored/black in the other.I have recently discovered you can’t substitute black pepper for white pepper for Asian hot and sour soup — they are completely different — so I’m glad I do have a use for both grinders.If you don’t have any need for the second grinder (who grinds their salt anyway?), you might want to give it to someone as a gift. In fact, I think these don’t need to be bundled as a “salt and pepper” shakers. A standalone electric pepper grinder would make a wonderful hostess gift.It makes me want to throw a dinner party to show them off! They look so classy sitting on the table. Everyone will be clamoring to “pass the pepper”!Note for anyone attracted to the claim of “one-handed operation”: I’m not entirely convinced that is true. Maybe it’s just that I have small hands, but I do find it necessary to use both hands.I think most people will hold it with one hand while pushing the top down with the other hand to start grinding. And before that you need both hands to pick up and remove the bottom plastic piece where the pepper exits. (Speaking of which, I think they should have included an extra one because it’s bound to get lost.)Of course, a professional server would be adept at grinding one-handed while multitasking.How fantastic that we ordinary folks now have access to culinary tools formerly used only by professional chefs!

Game changer for cooking
These salt and pepper grinders are great. I’ve tried a few different styles of these electric grinders and I quite like this style. These style of grinders are a game changer for cooking, as you free one hand to do whatever you need.The large button on top of the grinders prevents accidentally pressing the button when picking up the grinders. The LED lights are bright, but not bright enough to cook without a light. The reservoirs are very large and you won’t need to refill frequently.My only complaint about these salt and pepper grinders are that the ‘windows’ to see which grinder is salt/pepper is rather small and only on one side

I’ve initially run these alongside my old scales and found the weight measurement to be the same (not always what I want to read of course!) and consistent. I am quite heavy and had no problems. They are nice and compact but the readout itself is large and easy to read with the option of lbs, st/lbs and kg.The reason I bought these though is the additional measurements such as body fat and water. I have no idea how these work but there’s lots of them and they change when I do new measurements.The app is a doddle to download and use with no problems at all getting the bluetooth connection set up to connect to the scales. It’s so handy to be able to have a record of my progress as I try to lose weight and it allows you to track lots of other things like waist measurement or how much water you are drinking, with easy readouts whether this is good or bad.Simple to set up, easy to use and reliable.

VOXON USB C Cable, Nylon Braided High SpeedIt seems just lately that many manufacturers seem to be abandoning the traditional ‘Micro-USB to USB-A’ type cable connectors in favour of the newer ‘USB-C to USB-A’ type cable connectors. Recent devices that I have purchased seem to favour the latter. The problem with this is how long will it be before we are forced to upgrade yet again to yet another connector type?This is the reason why I rarely purchase expensive cables these days. I have boxes full of very expensive, obsolete, gold plated high quality cables that I will never use again. Recently I try to seek out good quality budget cables, that’s why these cables fit the bill nicely.You are supplied with two cables which come in useful lengths. One cable is one metre long, the other is twice the length being two metres long. The cable itself is fairly stiff, it doesn’t seem to have a coiled memory so it can be bent to the exact shape you wish without the cable trying to return to it’s previous shape. With a bit of patience you can get these to lay perfectly straight or at any angle you wish, you can also create quite a tight bend without causing any undue stress on the cable. So, if you wish to direct the cable around obstacles on your desk and have it maintain that shape then you can do so quite easily.The cable is nylon cloth covered in an attractive woven black and silver pattern, this gives the cable good protection but also giving the appearance that these are far more expensive than they actually cost. On one end you have a USB Type-A connector which is a standard USB size found on many computers or charging devices. On the opposite end is the smaller USB Type-C connector which is found on many of the newer phones and other devices (see photos for connector shapes). The connectors are made from a combination of plastic and metal, the plastic used looks to be of decent quality and seems very tough indeed. The connectors are moulded tightly onto the cables and appear to be unlikely to come apart or cause any problems even if tugged accidentally.In use I could not fault these. The connectors fit tightly when inserted into my devices without any movement whatsoever that I could detect, even if the cables are tugged or moved violently the connectors remain tightly plugged in. The connection seems constant without issue even with the roughest of treatment. I needed a couple of replacement cables for older ones that had gotten a bit frayed by ill and rough use and these double braided cables seemed ideal.They work exactly as any USB cable should, charged my phone and tablet in the same time as the older cables, but you’re paying for the durability of these cables, not their functionality, which is a given. The nylon braids are very strong and seem to be of a very high quality – they look nice too!Only time will tell if their apparent strength is for the long term but on first few uses, these are ideal and should last a long time. Recommended.

I bought these to replace my last digital scales that stopped working. It comes with a pair of aa batteries to get you started, unfortunately one of them was leaking so had to use some decent brand ones. I checked the scales with some known weights and it was reading bang on. It has a nice clear display and can be set between lb and kg. Setting up the app wasn’t that straight forward but not difficult. The app stores your weight and has lots of other functions. Iam happy with these scales and would definitely recommend them.
