The Hamilton Beach® Slide & Lock™ Espresso Maker has a patented Slide & Lock™ portafilter that makes brewing easy. The 15 bar pump fully extracts espresso’s flavor, and the built-in frothing wand lets you make barista-quality drinks.
PATENTED SLIDE & LOCK PORTAFILTER MAKES BREWING A BREEZE: Just slide the portafilter in place from the front of the small espresso machine and lock it on the side — unlike other machines, there’s no fiddling with brew heads in hard-to-access areas.
AUTHENTIC CAFÉ TASTE: Powerful 15 bar pump fully extracts espresso’s flavor for an authentic café taste, silky crema and quality results every time. With two portafilter spouts, you can brew 2 shots of espresso at once.
EASY-TO-VIEW PRESSURE DIAL: With the pressure dial right up front, it’s easy to observe the pressure level while brewing to help ensure optimal extraction. It gives you the confidence to make perfect espresso, even if you’re still learning.
FROTH, FOAM OR STEAM MILK WITH EASE: Create authentic cappuccinos, lattes, macchiatos and more with the perfect amount of light, airy foam. This espresso maker with milk frother has a built-in swiveling frothing wand with an adjustable steam dial.
CUSTOMIZED ESPRESSO SHOTS: Customize espresso shot volumes for one or two shots to your liking. Simply turn off the espresso machine with milk frother when you reach your desired amount of espresso.

Great espresso machine
Love the look, very functional and easy to use, doesnât require any pre-heat and does lots of foam. Highly recommended!

Great espresso machine
Love this espresso machine! It matches our kitchen great with a cute little retro touch. It also makes great espresso at home in my opinion. I donât miss buying lattes out and it saves money vs my Nespresso machine. I would buy this again when mine stops working. It has improved my energy with having a newborn and itâs super quick and easy to use in the morning.

Hamilton Beach for the Win
Iâve owned a few different home espresso machines and recently purchased this Hamilton Beach. Itâs easy to use, quick to heat, makes great espresso and the frothing is great! The machine is easy to clean. The only downside is that the water reservoir is a bit small and requires refilling quite often. The noise factor runs par with the other machines Iâve owned in the past.Overall, I would purchase this product again. Great value for the price point.

Problems
There a number of problems with this machine and one overriding reason I like it. The machine is difficult to clean. After removing the cup holding the coffee be sure to clean where the water comes out. The cup holding the coffee will be filled with water for a while so let it sit before dumping out the old coffee and hold a plate under it while transferring it to the sink because it will drip. You have to let the machine warm up before turning on the brewing. It does not automatically measure a cup so you have to stand by it to turn off the brewing. All of this means the turn-around time to make the next cup will be long. Be sure to check the water periodically so that you’re not brewing with none or too little water. Now the good news: this machine makes the best cup of espresso I ever had. The resulting brew is beautiful with a light foam and the black coffee underneath. The coffee is smooth and creamy. This is the first pump activated machine I’ve tried, I used machines that worked with the pressure of heated water, so I can’t say if all pump activated machines are this good but I’m thoroughly satisfied with the quality of brew from this machine.

No Complaints
The unique feature this has is a handle that locks the coffee grounds into place against the head. I am making perfect cappuccino with this machine, 2 to 3 times a day. If it holds up to this usage load, it will be one of the great purchases of my life.

ABSOLUTELY NOT
Pros: The espresso looked right. It had a good amount of crema . And the puck was dry. Thatâs the end of the pros.Cons: tiny water tank. For such a bulky machine the water tank was tiny. Maybe 2 cups. Will need constant refilling. The milk frothing wand is way too powerful. The âfrothedâ milk was basically whipped cream. It kept overflowing the pitcher and had to be dumped into another container and was still cold. The top layer wasnât the right texture – was so airy, like bubble bath-and beneath, straight whipped cream.. Basically useless for making a cappuccino or latte.Thereâs no auto-shut off to stop the espresso. You have to manually stop it. So if you turn away or wander off…espresso everywhere! On that same note, thereâs no setting for one cup or two. I guess you have to guess how much espresso is in the cup. Conclusion: I had this espresso maker boxed up and sent back the day I got it. If your espresso maker canât froth milk, thatâs a no for me.
